Anyone wanna lend me a fresh set of eyes?

If you could work it into the header graphic, you could leave the h1 where it is.

I just think that phrase needs to be somewhere where a first-time visitor can't miss it. It tells them exactly what the site's about, like someone said earlier, it does a great job of telling them "What's in it for me".

When I first visited the site, it took me a minute to figure out what the site was about.

The current header really draws the eye to the upper left.

If you had something like this:

I'd have known in an instant what you had to offer.

That's just my opinion, and something to consider.

I see you're using Drupal (Good choice), If you need any help with the template, PM me and I'll have a look.

I'm starting to understand the need for telling the users exactly what Im offering immediately. I think the best spot for that would be the blue header that's currently being used for 'Welcome to Course-Notes.Org'. I think it would be a little annoying for the user to have that displayed at the top of every page.

I have 128 characters to work with in the blue block title. Suggestions?

why is it aligned to the left? it looks really odd on 1920x1080.. IMO, it would look better centered

also, I looked around the Algebra -> Functions subsection for few moments and I think you should emphasize the math stuff (i.e., f(x) + g(x) = h(x) etc.) more..dunno, use a box, different colors, bold font, etc.

You could set it in the template to only show on the homepage.

I'd start with the keywords/phrases that have the highest # of searches in the Google KWT.

Firstly, nice site.

- As has been said, I despise left aligned layouts, they hurt my eyes. It wouldnt take much to just margin:auto your content.

- I assume your monetization is linked to your members, so I would do either one or both of the following:

a. Improve the visibility of your registration function, make sure your visitors know its an option, right now it took me a while to find it.

b. Your content is currently viewable without logging in, personally I would restrict access to most if not all of that content for visitors - until they sign up; just make sure big G has a login to index your shit.

- I think the site could use abit of spacing love in general, feels very tight to me, might be worth looking at a nice clean 960 layout to properly balance your content

- The create upload feature is nice, but I would personally lose that weird looking background to the description field.

- I get the orange/blue color scheme but I think the footer over does it in context with the rest of your sites light feel, personally I would use the blue as a background, a simple white base then other features such as links as the orange.

Just a few thoughts after 5 minutes digging around, good luck with the site it looks good so far.

Didn't realize I had all these new replies. Thanks guys!

I believe the original development team made it aligned to the left because of the placement of the 160x600 skyscraper. Pardon my CSS ignorance, but is it possible to have it centered on the screen but when the resolution of the screen is something stupid like 800x600 it is anchored to the left of the screen?

The math section in general needs a lot of work. But thats a good idea though to make functions stand out more

Valid point, I could display only on the homepage. Do you really think the upper left corner is where people's eyes go immediately? Maybe it's just me seeing the site multiple times a day and knowing that there's nothing of importance there which is why my eyes go to the top of the main column.

I'll need to think of a good headline. I'll post back later for more feedback

That doesn't make sense. Think about it.

Why would you ever need to left align? Centering the layout doesn't make it any wider. If things don't fit on the screen when its centered, things won't fit on the screen left-aligned either.

To get a div centered in both Firefox and IE you'll need make BOTH of these additions:

Code:
body {
  text-align: center;
}

#wrapper {
  text-align: left;
  margin: 0 auto;
}

The center text alignment in your BODY will center the WRAPPER div for Internet Explorer. However, then you need to reset the text alignment to left in your WRAPPER div. The auto margin in your WRAPPER div will center that div in Firefox.

- Looking into fixing left alignment.

- Monetization is on ads currently. Main goals around registration would be to get them upload content. But yes, more prominent registration is a good call.

- Interesting. I could look into that.

- Hm. Must be a weird CSS thing. Just has a white background for registered members.

Really appreciate the opinions. Will definitely spend some time investigating this weekend.
