Google instant search...wtf?

"browsers: Chrome v5/6, Firefox v3, Safari v5 for Mac and Internet Explorer v8"

Our friends on IE 6 and 7 are not affected. And it's a bit weird they don't mention Opera.

I just typed up some random phrases and when i deleted it all, everything went away but the green checks, lol fail google fail

If you're logged in your search results are modified anyway based on your personal search history and activity.

So how long before they decide this isn't the best way to display the most relevant results and shit can the entire thing?

Type "What the Fuck" and see what happens when you get to the "U".

White page of death.

I don't think its going to change much except for those adwords impressions.
So far on anything I'd usually search for its just suggesting stupid unrelated shit and hasn't put forward a single phrase thats useful. The only thing its done for my searching is put an annoying white screen of death between me and my search results.

Does this make harvesting any easier? Are there any captcha limits on this?

i was casually searching dildos and got a white screen till i clicked enter

bummer

i think this entire thing is hilarious, as the average internet user isn't watching their screen as they type - they're staring at their keyboard.

This kind of scares me. Judging by the behavior of some of the less "computer educated" people I watch using google, they tend to type a word or two (sometimes just several letters) then tilt their heads up and look at the screen and check their typing. I'd find it safe to assume that if google is already suggesting results by this point they are pretty likely to get distracted and just start clicking.
