Having managed two different reasurantsn over the course of 5 years this is niether shocking nor unexpected.
These people are working for shit wages and a few will do what they can to make more. What you may not know is in most reasturants at least a few people on the staff at any given time. I had employees that worked better high, it was a no brainer. I've had employees pay me to work longer or cover their shift so they could go deal.
If you don't think it's happening where you eat you are wrong.
My issue was with the poster not whether the story was accurate.
I usually cook for myself. And I can guarantee that the chef is not dealing, although he has been known to guestbook spam now and again.
