As one of the master trolls on WickedFire for the last few years, I figured that for my 3,000th post I would provide a little bit of wisdom to some people who may be visiting the site from time to time. In my young life I’ve experienced a lot business-wise, and the last few years I’ve grown a lot.
In between dickrolling everyone, posting memes, and general faggotry, I have maintained a business life on and off-line. Over the last 10 years I have been at the top of my game, earning a great income, then seeing it all crash when my company collapsed as a result of the credit crisis/financial market meltdown. I found WickedFire as I wanted to diversify my income through affiliate marketing… I now make a good income thanks to what I’ve been able to do. How did I do it? I lost a shit load of money. I made a ton of mistakes. I also read like crazy.
I went through a serious bout of depression and anxiety after losing all my money. I went through a big growth phase and started to change where my life was headed.
Here are some disciplines I’ve adopted that I recommend to anyone wanting to be successful in life:
1. Never stop learning. The moment you think you know it all, life will show you that you really don’t. I got cocky at one point in life, where I refused to take advice, refused to acknowledge others’ wisdom, and it bit me in the ass. Humility is a good trait. Be humble, acknowledge that there are people who may know more than you – and never stop learning. Read books. I have a disdain for gurus, but among all the crap that is out there, sift through it. Eventually if you sift through enough crap, you’ll know when you have something valuable.
2. Take care of your health. Money is phenomenal. Money buys freedom, money funds causes, money can buy you a safer car, etc. You can lose money. You can gain money. Once you lose your health, however, it’s much more difficult to gain it back. All the money in the world won’t save your ass if you find yourself with triglycerides that are through the roof or if you need a new liver. Hell, Steve Jobs was a multi-billionaire and he still was taken out by cancer. Protect your health, build good habits and exercise. If you stay healthy, you can make money, you can provide for your family, and ultimately you can enjoy all the money you made in 2009 off ringtones and Acai berries. It does you no good to be the richest person in the cemetery.
3. Be generous. I believe that what goes around comes around. I’ve been fortunate to make a good living. If you have an Internet connection and a computer you’re essentially one of the richest people in the world compared to the majority of those on Earth. While I’m a Christian and believe in giving money to churches, mission trips, etc. if you’re not – you can still be generous to causes you believe in. I think being generous is good for you, and keeps the flow of money going. Money should always be working in one way or another… It doesn’t do much when stagnant – give some away. If a homeless dude asks for cash, fuck it – give him some. Maybe he’ll buy crack? But who knows? Maybe he really is hungry and he’ll be thanking you in his head for your generosity. It’s just a good human trait.
4. Don’t be like everyone else. This goes for personal stuff, but also in business. The majority of society is filled with people I’d call fucktards. They “retire” broke, live off Social Security, and they don’t have a good quality of life. Who sold them on that plan? The majority of society goes to work 9-5. Sounds like hell if you ask me. Don’t be like everyone else. If a lot of people think a certain way, maybe it’s a sign that they’re actually being lemmings. Being critical of what the masses think is one thing that has made me a lot of money. When choosing what to promote online – why would you choose a niche that everyone is promoting? Makes no sense. More competition, margins are smaller, and you have to work THAT much harder to get to the top. Instead, why not look for areas where you can create your own niche? Read Blue Ocean Strategy. Good stuff there.
5. Where you are in life is your own damn fault. You make the bed you sleep in. Stop making excuses for where you are in life. Don’t blame anyone else. The situation you are in TODAY is a result of your thoughts, your actions, and your activity (or lack thereof). If our society took more personal responsibility, we’d be more productive and have less of a victim-type mentality. Look at the black community. Classic example of how we have made an entire race be victims. Listen to and read stuff by Larry Elder (LarryElder.com - Home of The Larry Elder Show and the Elderados - The Sage from South Central.) talk about how black victimization has created a cycle of mediocrity. Take responsibility. The buck stops with you. Read The Traveler’s Gift by Andy Andrews if you like history, have an imagination, and like to be entertained while reading personal development books.
6. Garbage in= Garbage out. Feed your body shit, it will turn to shit. Feed your soul shit, it will turn to shit. Feed your brain shit, it too will turn to shit. The opposite is also true. I stopped watching the news regularly. There’s nothing good that’s on there. I feed my brain good stuff. Positive stuff. I’m happier now, I’m healthier now, and it makes me more enjoyable to be around. I also make more money because of it.
7. Shave your pubes. It feels nicer, and your lady (or man, or ladyboy if you're NickyCakes) will give you more head.
These are all little nuggets that hopefully one of you takes to heart to make a better life for themselves. I could write for a long time, but since I will get a bunch of TL;DR responses, I will just write an eBook and sell it for $37.
I want to give a quick shoutout to some of the people here who have made my days enjoyable with their posts and have given me many attacks of laughter late at night. They have also been generous with their knowledge by posting good stuff as well as helping me out when I have idiotic questions: ly2 from WF, BlokBlok, learningcurve, Jon, .Hack, aaronklaw, Grindstone, Jeffrey, Berto, papajohn56, BigWill, medicalhumor, BLT, 1yerrot, Drew from SellHealth.com, Rexibit, IceToEskimos, BlueYonder, ShadowCaster, eliquid, danke, Andrew Scherer, Jose Armando, JosephM, Nick Throlson, Dullspace, and last but certainly not least – Sumit. I love you.
On a closing note, I posted a Case Study on how I was able rank an EMD .info which has 22,000 monthly exact searches in less than a month and I spent less than $100. You can read it here: EMD .info to #1 in less than ONE month
