3,000th Post - Tips for a Better Life from Dwight Schrute

The taint... There are various things people do. I shave. I just reach underneath and shave it. Some people like to take Nair, mix it with regular skin cream (to weaken it a bit) and rub that on the taint. I've heard of good results doing that, but I'm too scared to possibly burn myself.

I do recommend shaving the anus. Patience is key when dealing with that area... Do not rush. I've considered just having it waxed. I hear ly2 from WF loves getting his asshole waxed.

I do not shave my arms, chest, or arm pits. I think shaving the arm pits is a little weird. I think shaving is all personal preference.

Some people say "If you shave __ you're a fag." Not true. Sucking dicks makes you a fag. Having sex with another man makes you gay. Shaving your nether regions to make it more appealing for your woman is anything but gay.

Be sure that if you plan on shaving your junk, that the first time you follow Dwight's Helpful Tips:
1. Use scissors to carefully trim everything down.
2. Go into the shower and use warm/hot water on yourself first.
3. Use a good razor (no disposables) like a Mach Fusion, and some good shaving cream.
4. Shave with the grain of your skin. Not against it.. That will cause irritation.
5. Rinse off with cooler water.
6. Pat dry your skin when you get out - not rub it. That will cause massive ingrown hairs.
7. Put lotion on your skin afterwards so that you do not irritate your freshly shaved skin with boxers, etc.
8. If you DO get ingrown hairs the first time, which most people do, don't freak out, just exfoliate, use some Neosporin to prevent it from getting bad... they will go away after a few days. Your skin will be used to it and then it'll be cash money for now on.

Enjoy!

This is an excelent tutorial certainly worth $9.99

A couple of protips to add. As to the lotion always use an unscented lotion, better yet use aloe baby oil w/ viteman E. If you apply before shaving it will soften up the skin and help avoid the razor burn. Its a good idea to also apply immediately after shaving and 2 or 3 times a day for the first day or so to effectively eliminate the possibility of razor burn.

Pro Pro-tip. Use a high quality female shaving cream. This serves a dual purpose. 1) Much gentler on the skin and reduces possibility of the Razor burn. And for the single guys when your lady friend (girls you have been/or will be fucking less than 2 weeks only) finds this in your bathroom she will work harder at satisfying you as her competitive nature will surly come out

Always make sure you get the one w/ the green cap

What is ingrown hair.. is it a messy situation? Hair grows inward? and what is exfoliation?

Also can I just use one of the Gillette razor?? I still have a cartridge of sensor excel from way back that I should be able to make good use of, now that I have read ur thread..

You can use your Gillette razor without an issue... They are good.

Ingrown hairs are just bumps that form when sweat gets trapped and prevent your hair from growing... Exfoliation is when you basically just scrub your skin.

Just pat dry it and use lotion, you'll be fine.

Nice one, especially like the heated discussion over shaving.
The book list and the life lessons are a very nice share. thanks.

Can you please explain this part.. Sounds like a hassle, just when I thought I will shave tomorrow..

Just pop 'em like a zit after a few days.

It's basically the hair growing in a circle instead of breaking through the skin.
Disposables work fine by the way.

Never used lotion, only aftershave once (DO NOT TRY AT HOME).

Solid solid stuff man. I think this is something that's very intuitive to a lot of us but it's easy to forget since we're easily distracted, so it's great to be reminded of fundamentals.

I disagree about the shaving cream, it irritates the skin. Using just warm water and a sharp razor is fine, I never ever get ingrown hairs.

If you get sore after shaving try applying some talc to the area after patting it dry, leave talc on for 5-10mins and gently brush off then moisturise

Excellent post, especially about keeping up with health. I'm sure you have all heard "a healthy body is a healthy mind"
