30 million $ a month idea..?

Ok guys,
I have a question. What would you do if you were having an idea that could very possible make 2 to 30 million dolars a month because:

It would be a totally new idea, or at least a very good twist of an old idea.
You would have idea on how to get the traffic you need for that kind of money

But:

You wouldn't have the prograaming skills to make the site that you need which would have to have some options that need a good knowledge of programing and web security and couldn't trust a freelancer with this as he may see what a good idea this is and steal it.

You would not have the money to make the traffic that you want how you want.

How would you make this possible...what would you do?

And don't say: Kick myself in the head cause I'm already doing that!

Seriously, if it's that good of an idea then do your due diligence and do your research on the subject. I'm guessing that you are young (20 something) and have all kinds of ideas. Nothing wrong with that. Just take things one step at a time and see how things progress.
 
I'm guessing you don't have much money so your only real option is to find a 50/50 partner willing to do the things you can't do (sounds like everything but the idea). PM if you want to talk ...

50/50 partner is probably your best bet.

But, you CAN hire a freelancer to do the project. No project is so super sensitive that you can't hire people to do it. What matters is what you do with it once it is done. All great ideas get copied within minutes anyway.

Also, remember, the vast majority of the time, the people who you hire to code cannot execute business ideas. So don't worry too much. If they could India would dominate us already. lol

But seriously, you can also break apart the components of the coding and stitch it together in a way that no one knows every part of what's going on.

But the most important thing is to thinking about it and fantasizing... just get it done.
 
Alright guys! Even I get a partner he could screw me up...I mean...People are greedy this days...Yes I would share the idea if I would know she wouldn't steal it cause let's talk serious even a million a month is a lot of money...but who you can trust...that is the question...
 
In terms of the programmer stealing your idea, you might want to go with someone in the US (assuming you're in the US), and have them sign a contract. Not that people don't violate contracts, but at least you'd have some legal recourse.

I would guess that getting the traffic will be the biggest hurdle. Try to figure out how much traffic you'll need in order to get to the $2mm / month rev #. Then figure out how much this traffic will cost.

For capital there are various approaches: Fund on your own (if possible), raise $ from family & friends, pitch angels / VCs, etc.

In all seriousness...if you can't do the job alone then you will have to try and figure out a 50/50, 60/40 type of split with a competent programmer. Let him have piece by piece if you don't trust him in the first place so that he can't take the whole idea and run. But truly, if you don't have the capital or the know-how a JV is pretty much the only way to go. Just keep in mind, I personally would rather have 50% of $1M/month then 100% of $0/month.

Yes, because, the outside possibility that your Indian freelance programmer might turn out to be a treacherous idea-thieving super villain in disguise is an excellent reason to not pursue a quarter billion dollar revenue stream. That's some MBA shit right there. OP is a thought leader in risk management.
