Uh you guys think its ok for a cop to tase people if they don't listen to them? Originally police officers were there to "serve and protect" not act like sharks and arrest people for anything they can.

Violence is NEVER acceptable unless violence is used against them first.

Tasers kill people all the time. Using a deadly weapon because she won't put her hands behind her back? He could have just grabbed her fucking arms. Guy is a little bitch for attacking her when not being attacked first.

You didn't know not listening to an officer's every bullshit (and often unconstitutional) request is grounds for arrest/tazing? It totally makes sense. It actually makes you safer (as long as you turn off your brain and shut your eyes).
 
If it wasn't an elderly woman, I would say he had every right to tase her.. strictly because of someone's physical state at that age.. they might not survive a tase straight to the chest.

However, she was showing blatant disrespect and resisting arrest, he should have just brought her to the ground, applied a little pressure and put the damn cuffs on.

So I don't agree with the taseing, but the guy was just following protocol.

Disrespect? What about the cop should she be respecting? What has he achieved that she should have respect for him? Ever heard about respecting the elderly? I didn't see him treating her in a respectful way.

This fascist police state thing has gone way too far. People in the US used to feel pity for the people in communist Russia, who were afraid of police brutality and had no rights. Well welcome to the US(A)SR, where your rights don't mean shit any more and a guy with a badge either needs to be respected or you need to be dead (or assaulted sexually or violently). "Serve and Protect" my ass.

If you are going to give people the power to judge whether others need to be assaulted or not I think it is probably a good idea to ensure that those people have an IQ over retarded.

Everybody always seem to forget that we were not in his shoes at that time with the information he had before him.

Would I have tasered her based on what I saw - No. Did I have the same info before me as that copper - No.

So unless you have walked in his shoes your opinion carries about as much weight as nannas electrified old heart (as does mine).
 
I'm a bit shocked there's no age restrictions police have to follow when using a tazor gun. Those things contain quite the jolt, and I guess I don't know, but would imagine they can induce a heart attack in, you know, 72yo women.
 
I don't get why American cops patrol alone? I've lived in two European countries, and in both cops always work in pairs. Rather than being a 'fascist police state', it looks to me like the taser is more of a cost cutting measure, so they can either cut manpower or spread it more thinly?

No shit. We used to make fun of cops all the time growing up. We were just doing it because we were snot nosed punks. But cops didn't freak out and electroshock us because their feeling were hurt. Disrespect isn't against the law. It comes with the territory when you're a cop.

Grab her hands, stick her in cuffs, put her in the car. Situation fucking solved.

That would have been simple to do judging by how weak she seemed when he was pushing her.

The people on here saying that "if it was me i would have been tazed" need to step back and look at the situation. There is a massive difference between subduing a fit and healthy non-complying young male, compared to a 72 year old woman who is obviously just running her mouth a bit.

If you apply just a tiny bit of common sense you'd see that.

Doesn't matter if she's fucking 72. If a male aged 20-50 behaved in the exact same way she did and got tased, it would not even be in the news. People want equal rights and shit only when it's to their benefit. Talk about fucking double standards.

He even said to her that if she doesn't stop that he would tase her. But stupid cunt didn't listen and kept walking back to her car.

I wonder what would have happened had the cop tried that on epic man.

EM would ripped the probes from his chest, and jammed 'em deep into the cop's forehead. Then, he would let loose on the guy's jaw with his one-two Rock 'Em Sock 'Em punches, beating him to the ground.

As the cop lies there "leakin'" and muttering "Ugh... get me an ambulamps," EM would pace around his body, yelling "I TOLD YOU NOT TO FUCK WITH ME, BOY!"
