promethius was amazing

Were you a fan of the Alien series? Without going all comic-book guy on the movie, I couldn't get past the inconsistencies introduced. I've seen worse...hell I saw worse in the past couple weeks with what I assume was titled in production "Hey what would happen if I have 0.01% of Peter Jackson's talent and tried to make Snow White into LOTR". Still though, I walked away thinking that the director is sticking to his guns on the concept of making people argue about a piece of work years later (a la LOST) and doesn't see that why people argue about the work is just as important as the arguing. It could have been so very much better for the $150m spent.

I don't consider the Alien series really a series. The first one was the only one that mattered to me, the rest were just moneygrabs.

What inconsistencies are you talking about?

Just finished watching Promethius. Was okay but definitely had the lost feel to it which I hate. The had the trailer for Abe Lincoln up and it might just be because its a kiwi version or something but it looked crap.

So I am suppose to believe that Abe Lincoln was able to kill vampires with an axe, but he couldn't hear John Wilkes Booth sneak up behind him and put a bullet through his melon.

What inconsistencies are you talking about?

1. First hyperaggressive alien born at end of film, versus thousands of years prior to humanity's beginning -- to be fair, that was more explicitly mentioned in Aliens V Predator but was elluded to in I think the second Alien film.
2. Humans and the ancients wouldn't be 100% DNA match given the stuff in the canisters was essentially an evolutionary change agent allowing a species to adapt to its current environment. Something like 99% I would have bought, given our relation to apes etc.
3. I didn't spot this one myself, but including for the sake of mentioning because it would be a problem for fanboys -- [So in 'Alien', when Kane, Lambert, and Captain Dallas went to investigate the ship they found the space jockey sitting on that pilot seat. In Prometheus, we see the last living engineer to sit in the same position as how the Nostromo crew in 'Alien' found him sitting, (shown in this pic: http://www.prometheus-movie.com/gallery/view/img/336 ) when he was trying to get the spaceship to Earth. But towards the end of Prometheus, that same engineer went after Shaw - which means he got up from that 'pilot' seat to come and attack Shaw only to be killed by the giant Facehugger type creature and therefore could not be sitting back in that pilot seat.]
