Affiliate Convention: Denver? Anyone?

As mentioned in the other thread, nothing against Denver, but Vegas would have been a much better choice. You get the benefit of a great city for conventions combined with several local advertisers, cheaper airfare etc. Plus gambling.

I'm actually surprised there aren't more ad conventions in Vegas.

Go read the website. It's not necessarily free. You pay $700 or something and then hopefully they decide you get to go for free. If they don't, then you have to go sign up for one of the networks who is sponsoring the event and run traffic with them to beg for your free pass.

Not free, hardly any good speakers, not exactly the best place to have a convention. I'll be in town during the convention but i won't be there.

already enough conventions in Vegas, they have to do something to be different, but of course making it a worthwhile convention in the first place might have helped.

Personally, I want conventions to try new cities, just to put other areas on the map. Ad Tech or ASW in Vancouver I think would be a nice change.

if you want to go and need a free pass let me or your Copeac AM know. You dont have to run traffic with us to get in for free, we will get you added to the list

We poll people each year for Affiliate Summit locations - they have switched up in the east for each of the past 4 years, but Vegas always gets a large majority in the west.

I would actually like an excuse to go to Vegas...never been. Only heard great stuff though.

I had no problem registering for free w/out signing up with any networks or getting sponsored... but that was about a month ago. Maybe they've changed the reg process since. You could try e-mailing aunjanssen@gmail.com to see about a free pass.

I'm in Colorado Springs, south of Denver so it's a short drive for me. Although, I may end up not going after all...

A couple of people have mentioned being in Denver during that time frame, but aren't going to the convention. What else is going on in Denver next week?
