Racism? Islam is a belief system, not a race. There are blacks, whites, browns, yellows, etc. that follow that particular religion.
I get so sick of hearing people called "racists" whenever they criticize a belief system that encourages young men to commit atrocities such as murder, assault and rape in order to please their "God" and earn rewards in the "afterlife".
Kill a bus load of elementary school children and you receive a harem of 72 virgins in the afterlife? Rape and murder Christian and Buddhist girls and you get a free ticket to paradise?
Yet if you say anything about it, or recommend monitoring of these groups you are labeled a racist..

And it's not just in this forum, I saw the NYPD Muslim surveillance program called racist by commentators on both CNBC and MSNBC .

Yes, race was mentioned in passing, but nobody actually said this shooting was an issue about race nor did anyone call anyone else in this thread a racist. I'm not disagreeing that there are some people out there that can't differentiate between race and belief, but no one here has indicated that it's a problem for them.
They're calling it a combat outpost. Not really a base. Probably little more than a observation tower and sandbags within visual distance from others like it with a few soldiers there.
