Any other wine drinkers here?

Wine is okay to drink at home or at a restaurant. But if I see any of you ordering a glass of wine at a bar, I will harshly judge your masculinity.

lolll. 18% alc., costs like $3, shit will fucking kill you.. and no, not my favorite by a shot but i tried it once for the hell of it.

You guys seriously still call the Americas the new world?
Australia/New Zealand/South Africa too. I've yet to try a 'New World' wine that I'd prefer over a bottle of wine valued the same from France/Spain/Italy.
Doesn't "new world wine" from California often beat French wine in blind taste tests?

BBC NEWS | Europe | Wine competition pits France v US

The judges were even French back in the 1976 "Judgment of Paris" competition.
Dunno, USA is the one country whose wine I haven't tried.

Love Condrum. It's about $20 but it is so sweet and full.
Any Pinot Noir from Oregon from 2006. Most store only have 2009, which will be more in the $10 price range, but it just isn't as full.

I think there is a desert wine that you might love. It's less than $10 and is a Riesling. called, Schmitt and Shone (spelling?) Its a blue bottle with yellow label.

Also, the Apothic red is okay.

Ooh! and the Raymond Field Blend is nice and in that sort of price range.

I am mostly with reds- blends at that for that price. Sorry if you were wanting whites! (I am totally having grilled cheese for dinner!)

Naw I was kind of drunk on wine when I wrote that post. I can seemingly drink gallons of Vodka, but a bottle of wine makes me loopy as shit.

You don't have to name wines that are in the $10 or less bracket, it's just what I typically aim for (I drink to get drunk). Lot's of shitty wines in that bracket. I was just more wondering if there are any wine drinkers around here. Share what you like, no matter the cost.

As Apothic Red, yeah it was OK. A bit too much mocha flavor IMHO, but decent.

I just had Turning Leaf Chardonnay 2009, and it was a pretty tasty white, with nice butterscotch overtones.

Also at the top of my list is: Door County Natural Wines Blackberry American Merlot, and excellent blackberry Merlot, goes well with steak. Also SKS Estate "Silk", which is a red blend.

Also why all the hate? I can't hate soccer and Europe and like wine at the same time? I hail from a state that is known for cheese, so it's pretty natural to like cheese here. Wine makes cheese even better, so it's logical to also like wine.

Keep hating soccer and euro fags.

Metal shark had the smoked Gouda pic- I looove a 5 yr. Those crystals are like crystal to me. (hehe, like the drug... lol)

If no price range then Quintessa. hands down. Horrendously over priced at any bar and barely doable for special occasions from local shops; however, you can get not shocking prices online...

I love quintessa... The blackberry does sound great with steak even though I generally don't do merlot. I want to try the SKS Silk, sounds interesting!

My current favorite - I go through different phases where I'll love one specific wine until I find something new:

And always a favorite of mine:

both a bit on the pricey side - around $45 a bottle wholesale, $65+ retail - but well worth it.

I use that blackberry merlot in sauce reductions for steak, as well as stir fry. When mixed with soy and oaster sauce it produces a rich vibrant sauce. Straight cash money. SKS Silk seems good with pretty much anything.

Searched for Quintessa, damn man roughly $100 or more a bottle.
