I typically don't use adsense to monetize sites, but recently I set up a couple of blogs and began submitting them to social news networks. Yesterday I had a couple of adsense clicks and $0 revenue from them. Does anyone know why this might have happened?

edit: social news networks

I'm thinking it might be because they came from the college network which I have logged into my Google accounts from. I posted a link on a facebook group.

They are known as invalid clicks- either you are clicking your ad's. Or an adbot is, or someone who clicks a million ads is.

To those who say you can't make money with Adsense: LOL

maybe the click only costs a few cents, so Google just takes it. Or maybe it was on a CPM ad.

My per click revenue is down by about 60% in the New Year. I have Adsense Notifier in my status bar, or I wouldn't notice. One site, pays it's own way, about $50 a month.

Sweet username btw.

Who said that? Sure you can make a few bucks with Adsense, but it's nothing compared to what you could make promoting targeted affiliate offers in the same spot. Who do you think is paying you for those clicks? Morons?

It wasn't public service ads because my pages have content and it is on a topic that shouldn't have a problem finding willing advertisers for. They weren't CPM ads (I assume) because I had about 1k impressions and still $0.00 earnings.

You are right about that, but I'm trying the "make a bunch of blogs cheaply and submit them to social news networks" business model, and I'm trying not to spamify my blogs too quickly. I just put a block of adsense on the page to see what clicks were paying. I figure in the long run, even if they don't make all that much money, I can use them for seo.
