I need a new phone. I'm thinking of getting the new iphone that comes out, but the Pre looks kinda cool as well. Anyone have one? thoughts?

Depends what you want the phone for. If you receive and type alot of emails daily, I have found touch screens suck for that so i wouldn't get the new i phone. The new iphone is barely different from the existing 3g phone too. The pre is a cool phone but I would still take a blackberry bold over both of those phones.
I just got an iPhone this week, let me tell you, anything you want it to do (event though you may have to jail break it and install a 3rd party non-apple approved app, which is actually pretty easy to do) it will do and then some. I'm not trying to say the G1 is a bad phone, because frankly I haven't used it. I'm sure it's great. But the iPhone keeps blowing me away.
Example today I was able to install a VNC app that allows me to work on my home computer wherever I am. How freaking sweet is that?
Can you run two apps at the same time? ahh...
Or, can you make calls without a SIM card because it has a true VOIP wifi app that allows you to make free phone calls with google voice / gizmo5?

The new Nokia N97 beats iPhone, Pre and G1 together.
Looks good, but Nokia are notorious for shit battery life, and this thing looks like it takes up a lot of power.

Got it over the Pre for a few reaosns,
1. don't use phone for email or texting so much, so querty is not such a big deal
2. new iphone has video
3. Pre is only 8GB and same price as iphone 16gb
4. more apps on iphone
5. i have a mac and i love it, so figure iphone would be a good choice.

I was drooling over the N95 when it first came out, and now the N97 looks even better. The question is: is it going to be subsidized? And by who? If it isn't it's going to be like $700, so to each there own.
I love my iPhone3G except for one thing: it doesn't copy and paste! I can dump gigs of porn on it, play games, have a shitload of apps to choose from, but I can't fucking copy and paste! Drives me bug-fuckin-nutty
