Avatar Movie

At first I wasn't planning on seeing it in theaters, basically because I didn't know what it was about, but after I saw a trailer that went a little more in to detail about the plot I got a bit more excited about it. Besides, I'm a big Sam Worthington fan so I'll see it for that reason too. Glad to hear most of you guys liked it.

James Cameron only makes hits. This movie was no exception.

Live actors and CG within the same frames were practically indistinguishable. Almost every visual was jaw-dropping. The score was beautifully matched throughout the movie and I really cared for the main characters. Great storytelling. Moral of it was pretty obvious.

Near perfection. I predict an Oscar bukkake all over it.

See it in IMAX 3D if you can.

Jaw dropping visual experience. Must see in theaters in 3D. This is going to be one of those movies that didn't do so hot on it's opening day, but it's gonna go viral and end up grossing a fuck ton of money - just like Titanic.

finally saw it tonight. Totally badass movie! First time i've seen a movie in 3d and it was awesome.

Did it bother anyone else on a geek level how they destroyed a tree that can transmit and store petaflops of information over long distances in a second to get to a mineral thats worth less than a 1,000th of what a diamond is worth? After I learned what the tree did I wanted to scream GRAB ONE OF THOSE FUCKIN SEEDS! Even the science geeks had no interest in em even though one of those seeds were worth 10x everything under that big ass tree. Its like wtf just grab one give it to the military guys and be like there ya go this is worth way more than everything under that tree and if grown a single branch can replace the entire computer system in the whole fuckin base and then some. Sorry it just hit me on a nerd level :)

Yeah, there were loads of things like that that bugged me about it, definitely a case of style over substance. Visuals carried it though, can't wait for a decent film to come out using this technology.

Saw it last night and I enjoyed the experience as many of you guys said..

Cameron can pull you into a story, and I give the presentation a 10 but part of me kept feeling like I saw this movie years ago when I saw Dances with Wolves, well DWW meets the matrix anyway.

Still though he takes almost three hours of movie and makes them fly. No pun intended- and I wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone to go and check it out it's definatly one of the best movies from Big Hollywood in awhile, second only to JJ Abrams adaptation of Star Trek.

B~

An orgasm for the eyes... see drunk/high and it just takes it to a whole new level. This is about as scifi/fantasy you can get. Cameron creates a new world that you can pretty much see/feel for 3 hrs. Too real. Can't wait to see the next gen of films like this.

loved it. (saw it stoned....)

read online this is part 1 of 3 as well. Very interested to see where this goes. Earth forces coming back to decimate?

What? :disgust: Like the native americans?

OR (more likely) he is simply telling a story and you're associating unrelated shit with it.

/facepalm

/facepalm x 2

IRAQ YOU STUPID FUCKS IRAQ

But yeah I'm going to go see it this weekend too.

/MOAR FACEPALM

You sir are high as fuck. His wordsmithing skills are beyond impeccable.

Well I'll ask the question again, why the facepalms? If all you can do is reply with /facepalm don't bother. All it does is prove you're just being a lemming follower and don't even know what you're making fun of.

Fact is.... James Cameron has been developing this movie for 15 years. And if you can count that predates the Iraq war.

The other fact is.... America isn't the only country on earth to ever invade a country for potentially greedy reasons.

Could it be that the message is more geared towards overall human tendencies and not a specific event in history? Could it be that Pulse had a point by saying people are trying to associate it with unrelated shit just to have something to gripe about?

Nevermind, forget I said all that. It's much "cooler" to just post /facepalm on a forum without thinking. It helps us know who the lemming/easily influenced followers are so we can take advantage of their weak mindedness.

indeed. i liked avatar a lot, despite the fact that yes, it was dancing with wolves in space. there were, however, a lot of cool concepts in the film, and i was completely engaged the entire time. never a dull moment.

second best sci fi of the year, for sure. but nothing beats star trek. that was EPIC.

3rd. i put Avatar behind District 9.

Trek of course blows them both out of the water.
