Avatar Movie

Trailers look great, CGI is awesome but it's three hours long??? That's ridiculous. Man, three hours for an action movie sounds tiresome...

Saw it in 3D totally blowed (we snuck in hash lollipops and brownies to keep the high going too) and was not disappointed.

Kept me engaged the entire time, and the CGI was amazing - it didn't at all look animated, and combined with the 3D I honestly felt like they were right there in front of me.

yeah the plot wasn't exactly mind bending but the CGI and graphics are well worth it if you can stay awake that long hahha.

You can tell the animators put a lot of really hard work into making this movie visually perfect.

I thought the moving was outstanding. I thought the acting was a bit overdone but the characters were solid and everything else in the movie (visual effects, killer plot, amazing action scenes) really makes this a killer movie. A+++++++ can't wait for the sequel LolOLoL i sound like a little schoolgirl

I heard the graphics were really good but it is almost 3 hours long, I do not think I have the patience to sit for that long on any one topic.

I think I am going to wait it out until the smoke clears I had going to packed theaters here. I didn't realize it was in 3D either. I don't get out much maybe I'll download it.

downloading and watching this movie at home is a waste of time and bandwith.seriously, this is one of the movies you need to watch in a cinema.

Saw it in 3D in an IMAX. Was a good flick, but there's not a lot there once you take away the eye candy. There weren't any memorable lines except maybe the last line. It's just Dances With Wolves with really great CGI.

Some movies like Fifth Element I can watch over and over because they're just full of creative elements, both serious and funny. Avatar just wasn't like that. Maybe I'm just a victim of the overhype.

Just saw it, I think it's so overrated. It was an enjoyable movie, but there's nothing original at all. The whole Pocahontas thing, the graphics...

The whole night scene was a total ripoff of Final Fantasy x's Macalania Woods and that was released back in what..2001?.

I can't understand why everyone downs the story - I thought the story was great. Even if some the concepts were not original there were many that were unique. What really matters is how its put together, and I thought it was done nicely.

LOL at you for being so ignorant. you obviously haven't played the game before.

Just because he's James Cameron doesn't mean he can't rip off scenes from other stuff.

The story is just the same story told over and over again... Are you saying you were on the edge of your seat and super surprised at how it ended?

Its the same basic plot as Dances With Wolves and tons of other movies.

Just a awesome special effects and sci fi spin.

You have a point but I dug the underlying nuances about spirituality and human culture. I guess it really has nothing to do with the plot in retrospect, does it.

Metaphor and symbolism are present in a lot of movies, but usually with a lot more subtlety, so I guess most of you guys miss out. Avatar's "lessons" were as subtle as a ton of bricks.

Avatar did not have a groundbreaking script. Its one and only claim to fame is the computer generated imagery. Don't get me wrong; the tech is fantastic, and I enjoyed the movie... but the script was nothing to write home about -- no pun intended.

Script not great, but 3D was incredible. Especially how seamlessly they incorporated the live actors with the CGI. Major win.
