The lack of auto-renewal off a credit card is the only negative about internet.bs.

name.com will auto-renew, and will auto-renew whois privacy too. They removed free whois privacy this year and now make it a $2 or $4 upsell though. But, you can find a free whois coupon. I assume it won't always be available though, and now any name.com domain I have I factor that in as a cost.

Hey thanks - but is the private whois renewal free with internet.bs ??

Then that MIGHT be worth doing. Question would be if I want to manually renew lots, or if I want to pay extra for whois privacy.

Yes, whois protection is free and renews free on internet.bs. Just renewed 1 of mine to verify this.

Have not figured out a way to click a whole list of domains and have them all renew at once with them though. Kind of a PITA. I like name.coms bulk renew the best.

Hah thanks for renewing for me.

Here's my response from name.com - I think they might have a new customer!

Hello,
Thanks for contacting Name.com. We do support American Express. We are based in Denver, so that you will not have to pay international fees. You can easily select to enable automatic billing for all your domains or change your account settings so that all products are automatically renewed by default.

We still have a valid promotional code for free whois privacy protection (FREEWHOIS). I encourage you to use this as much as possible.
Our transfer prices vary on the domain endings. For this month's transfer cost, please see manage.name.com/domain-transfer.

Thank you for considering Name.com and please feel free to contact us with any other questions you may have in the future.

Regard

how would you use the free whois coupon (which has been working since they switched from free to paid whois privacy) with auto renewal?
make sure to ask them this^

I always use that code, but I manually renew my domains

i'd suggest internet.bs: free lifetime private whois as long as you stay with them.
.com are $7.99 ...

Namecheap FTW!
I can't stand Godaddy. Had a couple of domains with them and always something was wrong and I had to pay some extra fees, than again, and then again..

I've never had a problem with Namecheap though..

That's my biggest concern right now with that strategy. I'll ask them but I'm guessing it ends in manually-worked chaos and destruction like every other "automated" business pursuit of mine.

Namecheap sucks.

They are not an ICANN registrar.
They are reselling for Enom and I have experienced problems and delays when their connection to enom had problems. My last 8 domains at namecheap went to name.com about a half hour ago.

As far as godaddy, just google Mike Filsaime godaddy and you'll get a couple of screenfulls of how godaddy will disable your domain for one complaint, even if unfounded.

It's easy to manually renew the private whois on name.com well ahead of and separate from the registration at name.com that way the privacy is not due for renewal when the automatic domain renewal happens.

My choice on godaddy and namecheap because of vouchers

Guys NAmeCheap is Awesome in all ways... they dont do same like godaddy do with their client that if some one forget to renew domain then they move it to premium domain for $200 and above...
