It's hyperinflation you have to worry about. The minute you fuck the Chinese, your dollar won't be able to buy a toothpick.
The dollar is stronger than it's been in ages. If you're American living abroad you can feel it....
At the end of the day all Americans want is some honesty. I want Bush and Chaney to get on TV and say "we blew a surplus we betrayed conservative fiscal policy by spending, spending, spending, we let the dollar go in the shitter. When you are in charge, the buck stops with you and yes we fucked up...."
Then I want some left leaning democrats to say
"We took money from big banks during the bush years and we let the fox in the hen house. We care more about big sometimes overly ambitious government programs and deficit be damned we are still going to spend....."
Honest. Simply Honest. Why can we have some of that?

Almost everyone would commit a crime if they could get away with it. It's not honesty we need, it's dividing the power up to ensure that its impossible for them to steal or commit ethically dubious actions.
As for the dollar being strong, enjoy it while it lasts. The minute all the dollars the Fed is pumping into the system arrive, the dollar will plummet. The only reason inflation hasn't kicked in yet is because everyone's scared - the banks aren't spending the billions that the Fed gave them. But they will, and when that happens, we'll be lucky to avoid hyperinflation.
Agree with above post . . . interest rates will be in the high single low double digits within two years to try to control inflation.
Honesty is something that won't come from the parties in power. Something is going to need to "happen" take back the government. The people have been getting screwed in the ass for the last 8 years, and we're due for change.

I'd say your wrong, The Fed is not going to run with their tails between their legs. Watch for another great war to start and force the retarted US sense on nationalism hard core. It will then be against popular belief to be against the governments and Federal Reserve tyranny.

Bought an extra stash of Silver coins a few days back. BOE printed £2billion last week and will be creating over £74billion over the next few months. The Fed's gonna inject billions into the economy. Now we all know we should take account of fractional reserve banking right? So it should be 10 times that figure. SO get into gold and silver. There were times during the 'Hope, Change, Yes We Can!' bullshit campaign that I kept asking how the hell is he planning on paying for all of this? The sad truth is he never cared about that, they were nothing but intentional campaign lies to play on the morons with blind hope (or just plain stupidity) to vote for him.
Now they (we) will all pay for their stupidity.
The problem isn't Democrats or Obama though. It's where they get their power from. Same thing with the neocons.
They give people what they want. Republican social conservatives wanted a holy war with Muslims. Any muslims, didn't matter if they were terrorists or not. War brings out a strong sense of nationalism which overpowers our common sense capacity to reason.
The progressives like Obama have managed to cultivate a cult of personality around this guy. I was thinking about it last night. George Washington was a hero of the revolution, he was an outstanding thinker, businessman and leader of his community. An architect of the republic.
And no one in his era, deified him as Obama is deified now. In retrospect, the Founders all get a lot of love and respect, but at the time, they weren't treated like Kings or holy men. People weren't so naive and stupid.
Anyway, Obama gets his power from a very uneducated and unaware public, trained by TV to treat life like reality TV. I have a friend in Washington State, she wrote me that "Obama will finally give us health care".
Like Bush and Cheney were denying it to people. That they were sitting on it, refusing to give the people TEH HEALTH CAREZ.
When I asked her, given that the budget deficit is soaring, the debt is soaring, and the long term entitlement obligations are 20 times annual GDP, how it will be paid for, she said nothing.
These people actually believe the government, like a messiah, can "give people stuff". For free.
They believe that Obama is more qualified to hand out jobs than the foreman on a construction site with 20 years experience.
The big problem is that there are a lot of stupid sheeple for the parasites to feed on. And they all get to vote, even if they are on welfare, and their vote counts just as much as yours does.
One thing is for sure. In harsh economic times (like dollar collapsing), people are more interested in getting food on the table than the 'like to have's'. With less or no disposable incomes, they won't spend the money on such as things as how to 'double your dating'. Anything that is not a 'need' will suffer. That goes for 'acai' - why would people attempt to diet when they are on a forced diet anyway.
