Why are blacks so good at rapping? It seems like 95% of the rappers are all black. Why?

Not to sound racist but it's because they are too lazy to learn how to play an actual instrument.

Is the 5 gallon bucket not an instrument?

...not to sound racist sounds racist

It's cultural. Rhythm and dance were important methods of storytelling and preservation of tribal culture in Africa. Similar to Native Americans, though Europeans killed most of that off, since killing people and taking land is an important method used by white people to preserve their culture.

Black music used to be good, let's not forget they practically invented rock n' roll. What happened?

Now we have lil wayne n shit..

That is generational. People used to feel the same way about rock n roll.

Do you really think 50 Cent - In Da Club is going to be looked back upon with fondness in 50 years time? or any song from todays charts for that matter? none of it has any heart or creativity and will therefore not stand the test of time.

That's like wondering if black people are ever going to remember the first black president. We're talking about black people here not white people. That being said, I'm sure I won't be listening to 50 cent when I'm old, I don't listen to him now.

Probably not. But they will eventually be repackaged, like the Beatles did to Chuck Berry and Little Richard. There was a time when rock started to pick up that anything good coming from a black artist, also had the white version.

The difference today is that it's not as racially separated, but older hip-hop and electrofunk is getting repackaged into newer forms that test well with focus groups.

Remember these guys? A black rock band...a true anomaly in today's black music.

If only the Lil Wayne's of the world would've wished to be like them...

It may be that 95% of the best rappers are black, but I'm more curious about why fewer blacks like rock music than whites like rap music.
