Blogging now requires a $300 license in Philly

WTF? You a need license to run a business? I thought the US was supposed to be the home of free enterprise etc. etc.

Agreed - she was stupid to tell the govt about the piddling amount she made. Unfortunately, it's the honest, by-the-book people who get screwed because they are the easiest ones to get money off.

lol... there it is folks! haha... It's Obama's fault. Not the city government that has been running Philly for the past 60+ years.

Popeye never fails.

Yet BO and the self proclaimed intellectuals still blame EVERYTHING that goes wrong on a past president that has been out of office for 2 years.

If I wasn't busy blogging, I'd easily find a way to get $300 in parking tickets in that town anyways.

It would be inevitable actually.

I like the optimism that you think this would stop a flood of DP like people from flooding the internet, but this would actually just increase the amount of DP like people since most those people dont live in the US.

All this does is raise the entry for US citizens to start their own blogs and online businesses, and in turn, European and Middle-Eastern counties reap the benefits of their biggest competitors not even being able to plant the seeds of their success just starting out.

Its nice that its $300, about a weeks pay for the average minimum wage full time joe, who is usually living paycheck to paycheck anyways.

Everyone agreeing with this is being extremely short sighted and outright greedy. Just because you cant compete with someone who has no budget doesnt mean its right for the govt to indirectly do you a favor.

Do you really think that the purpose of this tax is to do a favor to bloggers and IM from Europe and Asia?
Made me LOL
It's simply a dumb fucking new tax.

I'm not sure cause I'm Canadian but didn't one of the creators of the Declaration of Independence say to kill the government every once in a while? Cause right now would be a prime time.

Of course I dont think that some polititian was sitting in his office pondering how he could help out the blogging industry in europe and asia.

I was pointing out that the logic the other poster had that this would create a barrier to entry was flawed. That this would not be a hurdle at all to foreign bloggers, and only to US bloggers.

Its simply a dumb fucking new tax, and anyone agreeing that its a good thing because it suits their self interest isnt thinking it through.

somehow im pretty sure this is obama's fault. popeye will probably fill in the details glen beck style

Everything is Barack Obama's fault remember?

Please refer to the quote in my signature.

If you guys don't see the problem with laws like these then it's no wonder we keep voting these idiots in office.

Bottom line: You stifle free markets and raise the barrier of entry now the only ones blogging with be all the Engrish speaking DP'ers.

I'll take that hope and change now please.

But why $300 to blog?
There are blogs that make millions and blogs make nothing.
These idiots with "great academic degrees" don't know that we Internet Marketers already pay our taxes on earnings from blogs.

You know I am offering privacy services for much less than $300 lol.

And you tell me Americans aren't stupid?! Damn where did this "free country" go? Almost as ugly as in Europe.

Sorry have to do double post but...

While I can agree that this is a nice "raise of the bar" to keep the DP like people from flooding the internet

How fuckin stupid are you?

Indians don't pay $300 blog taxes. Neither do asians or anyone that is smart enough to just avoid taxes and government at all.
