Are there no official sources of Piracetam, like from a recognized pharmaceutical company (the one that holds the patent perhaps?), where the content and purity isn't suspect?

These tubs of powder from internet mail order companies don't instill me with much confidence.

What's under the stickers?

Blank areas. The tub was obivously designed to be used like this - tape the info on and use the same container for any products they're selling.

But how in the hell do they expect people to consume random powder out of something like that?

i've gone through several of those containers and i'm still alive. they just buy all their stuff in bulk drums and package it themselves. low overhead operation.

Well, I took it 3 times yesterday and am still alive. When I received it that is exactly what I first thought ^^^ they buy it in bulk and just run a cheap ass operation.

Just wanted to see if other people are getting the same shab packaging - and if they are also still alive.

Matt, I got the same exact packaging. I was just as impressed with the professional labeling.

That aside, I'm serious liking the stuff. This morning, after a night of moderate drinking and still after a morning walk with the dogs I was dragging. I got home, dissolved a teaspoon of the stuff (about 3700 mg) in some orange juice and chugged it. Literally 10 minutes later I was feeling like I hadn't drank at all and totally clear headed.

I'm also taking the choline others recommended here and elsewhere. I'm taking it in the form of Soy Lecithin (supposedly a very bio-available or digestible source of choline). I picked up a pound of the stuff from Whole Foods for $10. It actually tastes pretty good (nutty) compared to the bitterness of the Piracetam.

Same experience here. From about 15 minutes after I take the piracetam (and alpha-gpc I got from 1fast400 as well - which tastes 10x worse than the piracetam btw) for about another 3 hours I feel generally more clear headed, focused, and motivated to get through some of my work.

Admittedly, I still feel a bit weird about their packaging system. It gives me a feeling like the operation is being run out of some kids basement, and I'm not comfortable with the idea of things possibly getting mixed up.

Thought they shipped in Europe. I found this which is in EU:

PIRACETAM AL tbl 60x 1200mg
PIRACETAM AL tbl 100x 800mg

But those prices look fishy...
Yeah, I ordered a bottle from Cognitive to see if it gets stuck in the customs ;)

This guy actually did 11 day experiment (unscientific) with Piracetam, just watched all videos and it convinced me to order...

Only thing I'm worried is the effects of long-term usage.

I can't believe there's no certified pharmacological source for Piracetam, that it's basically coming from what are (or could be) fly by night supplement companies. I know it's not FDA certified, but here in Europe they write prescriptions for this stuff from what I have read so there must be certified manufacturing going on somewhere.

With all the problems with products coming out of China, cross contamination, mixing up batches of unlabeled containers, yadda yadda yadda, I want to know the product in there is pure and exactly what I ordered.

For example, this site and others say "bottled in an FDA certified facility" which is great, but that says nothing about the source of the materials being put in those bottles... Piracetam - 180ct (Ingredient / Piracetam)

This site has the disclaimer "The product descriptions and the statements on this page are from manufacturers and/or distributors and have not been evaluated by VitaSprings or the FDA." which is basically saying "this shit could have come from anywhere, use at your own risk"... Piracetam - Bulk Powder, 500 g, NutraceuticsRX

I'd like to be a little bit more certain about the source of brain altering chemicals before I start consuming them.

Xentech's links look like proper prescription packaging, but most of those that I've seen look like they are coming from the Czech republic or Russia or something. More research is needed. I'm going to ask a pharmacist in Gib tomorrow... I will report back.

As long as you can snort it off of a hooker's ass, who really cares?

...

I'm having the same issue with piracetam. I'm going to try to look for it at a local vitamin shop that has never let me down as far as finding other nootropics I take.

I tried two different pharmacies in Gib today and both of them hadn't a clue about what I was talking about. In one I was like "Piracetam? Pi-ra-ce-tam? Piiii... raaaa... ccee... taaaammmmm? Here, let me write it down for you."

"Nootrowho? Oh, no sorry, they only give that to people here who are in the hospital."

(sigh)

Idiots.
