Cloudfare experiences?

I'm confused. I use Cloudflare on a ton of shit. Am I doing it wrong?

I have switched to IE8 on my VirtualBox WinXP SP3.
Bro check your site with IE8:

"Site-Not-available page"

I actually work for CloudFlare and thought I would comment on this. This is only going to be caused by (a) the server actually having issues, or (b) something blocking requests from our IPs at the host or server level (site owners should make sure our IPs are whitelisted). The CloudFlare IPs can be found here: https://www.cloudflare.com/ips

...then there are the occasional cloudflare nginx errors you see.

Hi,

...then there are the occasional cloudflare nginx errors you see.

A CloudFlare nginx 502-gateway is entirely different & and most likely a temporary issue in one of our datacenters. But the Site Offline/Unavailable message is caused by the server actually being down, or it is being caused by something at the host or server level blocking requests from our IPS.

Damon, all I can tell you is that it seems to work like crap here, so maybe you should get with Brandon and figure out why it is so shitty.

Hi

Checking with IE8 using IE NetRenderer - Browser Compatibility Check - shows that it's fine. Sure it couldn't be something else?

Browser Compatibility Check looks for signatures that are consistent with web spammers and the like. As there are some false positives because of plugins and extensions throwing it off, this feature can actually be turned off by the site owner. Another option is to whitelist IPs.

Hi,

Why does cloudflare block all IE8 users?
Do you think how many users a money site can lose?
Do you know how many users in the world use only Microsoft browser?
What issues IE8 can give to a site, except all the fancy UI experience users can miss about HTML5/CSS3?

We don't block all IE8 users. Are you getting the Browser Integrity Check issue highlighted earlier?

Hi,

Whose server? Cloudflare's or ours?

This would be on your server. If you have rules in something like .htacess that limit by IP, then that message could appear if requests from our IPs were being blocked or limited. It is also a good idea to make sure your hosting provider has our IPs whitelisted.

There are some other potential (rare) causes (other security products you use) , but the number reasons for the site offline are actual server issues or something blocking requests from our IPs on the host or server side.

Damon, prove you can solve Wickedfire's problem and then I'm sure you'll probably convince a lot of people.

For now, it appears Cloudflare does more harm than good.

How many people need to say this?

Also, the $1B rumored valuation is stupid.

Hi,

"How many people need to say this?"
I'm responding, no? The most likely issue is that something is blocking our requests *somewhere*. Since they say they have done so on the firewall, also need to have them check to see if the host is doing anything to block/limit connections.

I have also responded with what the issue is with some users getting the Browser Integrity Check error messages. This is quite easy to solve by turning that optional security feature off.
