Ok so looking just at gun owners are they more likely to shoot themselves or be murdered? That info would only be useful if we also knew how many gun owners have successfully defended themselves from being murdered, is there any data available about that?
You can't measure it by gun ownership, but by how many hoseholds have a gun, since many accidental gun shootings are by non-owners (kids playing, etc). About 50% of US households have at least one gun. So adjust for the numbers there is a 1648 accidental gun deaths for the same 18,000 murders that happen. So the argument of 'for every one of those there are one accidental shooting' is typical anti gun bullshit.
Anti gun people give the same arguments to the point where I know them all. Shoot one at me, and I will blast it down with REALITY!
I would have been like I have a shotgun here you better get the fuck outta here. Depending on his response to this I may or may not shoot him.
Good to hear you like to get shot. Because if you know ANYTHING about guns, you would know you don't let an attacker know where you are, or what you have. Telling them to 'fuck outta here' could end up with you getting shot because he got the first chance. So if you don't mind risking your life to
possibly save the life of a person
BREAKING into your house, that is your dilemma. I'd rather be safe.
Odds are though that he was a nut fuck...but still... shoot first and ask questions later is fucking retarded. Now she has to live with herself and she's not even sure what the man was doing.
Umm, did you not hear the video? He was trying to break in! He wasn't screaming for help, he was trying to break in. She did know what his intentions were. To break in. Now whetever he was going to do inside is anybodys guess... but since you are such a wonderful person, I'm guessing you would have waited to find out right, at your own risk, and possibly of your loved ones?
Maybe he was acting like a maniac because he was:
- high
- desperately trying to save his sister.
- assumed no one was in the house (since she didn't make her presence known) hence, goes on to bang the door down.
And this is the lady's fault how? If you fuck up you pay the consequences. Whatever his ultimate intentions were, he fucked up and paid the consequence. That is what the real world is about. Get over it!
Assume you were:
- high
- desperately trying to save your sister
- trying to break into an apparently empty house to call the police (I can actually imagine myself in this scenario...no cell phone, no one else around, extremely desperate etc.)
All of a sudden BOOM!.... The house wasn't empty...
If I was and I got shot, so be it. It was MY CONSCIOUS decision to get high. You can't live with the consequences? Then don't do the things that lead to them.
I'm not going to praise anyone for fucking killing another human being. That's just fucking stupid.
I'm not praising her for killing the guy. I'm praising her for having the guts to protect herself in a society of fucking wimps like UnripeArbiter who can't seem to accept that if you fuck up, you will pay for it. Fucking pussies like that seem to think SHE should bear the burden of risk when this guy was trying to BREAK into her house. The idiocy is beyond words.
