What does that have to do with the content in the OP?

George Bush was a liar, scumbag and mass murderer, but if he noticed the sky was blue, what he is, doesn't invalidate everything he observes or does.

Likewise, you shouldn't use people as an authority, nor should you use ad hominem to invalidate what they are saying.

If nothing in the OP was new to you, that's fine. I am not promising content that will always achieve your enlightenment.

Maybe someone else gets value from it.

My 2 cents

1. Whenever somebody rambles on about deflation in western economies and doesn't even take a nod towards the internet, I have doubts as to whether the guy has done his homework. Let's take main street retail for example, what's killing it? Obama, Bernanke or Amazon? Pick one. And speaking of Amazon, how is that cloud computing thingie working out for you hardware guys Solaris and HP? Oh notsogood.

2. Debt problems of Western economies: Big part of that is the pensions issues. And a BIG reason why we have a underfunded pension problem is life expectancy People are living too damn long, especially in Japan. Now this guy talks about demographics but he doesn't talk about the ramifications of life expectancy.

For example, if we cure cancer in the next twenty years and life expectancy shoots up 90 or even 100, most pensions set up today and in the past will be fucked. On the whole, is this a disaster?
