Like when doing keyword research, link building or before reading stuff about SEO (like coming to wickedfire), do you log out of google account? or even use a separate browser like epicbroswer?

Tin foil hat mode
  1. Dynamic IP that changes daily
  2. User agent switcher
  3. Don't use chrome.
  4. Disabling google fonts most wordpress sites use this by default.
  5. For each site I use bullshit whois info. I don't trust services like whois guard since they can leave a footprint
  6. I use a single static ip per site never in the same ip range.
  7. Different usernames on everything
  8. Never use the same theme twice
  9. Use an iphone or windows phone instead of android.
  10. Block google plus share with adblock

hey newb (just kidding) you forgot to add the virtual machine to that list. As well as mac spoofing

For me the time value to hide just doesn't justify the risk. Though I'm not really involved in anything too off white these days, even back in the blackhat days I found it wiser to use the time that would be spent on precautions to just do work. And if it matters my blackhat days were in the black, survived the majority of algo changes, and never saw manual intervention to my knowledge.

Ah yes forgot about vms. Even better would be a linux live CD since everything gets nuked once you finish.

I am mostly white hat but I am not giving the bastards the chance to nuke all my sites. Its not that difficult to hide from them once you get a system in place.

Microblock/ublock for Firefox blocks most ad related javascript. You won't even see AdWords on searches. Sites can STILL fingerprint you by using a combination of resolution/UA/fonts/plugins, pretty accurately.

Even disabling a lot of stuff, these properties have a lot of entropy. https://panopticlick.eff.org/ is a good idea of how unique you actually are.

Basically, if you search on Google, they can say that this is a fingerprint unique to 1/10mm people, then store that fingerprint and later associate the data to your Doubleclick data.

Question about Adwords & Adsense -

When Google slaps a ban is it specific to the individual or is it possible to hide behind the corporate veil?

Also, what VPN provider would WF recommend?

Thanks for the recommendation. I wasn't talking about playing hide and seek with Google it was more of a general question. (Although - hypothetically speaking - I imagine if combined with a VM and best practice it would offer sufficient protection regardless of static IP..?)

The reason I ask the first question isn't because blackhat btw. Just.. I have potentially questionable ideas frequently, but wouldn't want to jeopardise my future with Google as an advertiser or publisher based upon those ideas; given they're a big company and the little guy doesn't have much leeway..

Hahaha, hiding from Google... GOOD LUCK!

Behind those layers of anonymity arises patterns of behavior that can and will be associated with a unique ID somewhere down the line. Even if you're perfectly anonymous, your friends and family will never be.
