Does anyone care about Barry Bonds breaking the record?

Yep, those numbers are ridiculous and they all came after Barry hit 38 years old. Obviously the juice is what took him to the next level and also helped him put on an extra 100 lbs in his mid 30's, BUT it's not like every other MLB player isn't juicing too... and you don't see anyone else coming close to the numbers Barry put up.

Barry found a way to squeeze through a glitch in the system - if he doesn't get convicted of it, his record will stand. He's looking pretty good right now.

if you know anything about baseball you know this is absolutely DISGUSTING. from a sabermetric perspective, this guy is probably third offensively behind ruth and williams, but overall i think he is the greatest

(a very strong argument can be made for ruth, considering his absolutely SICK offensive numbers and his excellent, hugely underrated pitching ability)

Hank Aaron is still alive and he hasn't congratulated Bonds on beating his hr record.

Maybe Aaron is a sore loser.

Screw Bonds. There will always be an asterix next to his record.

Here's what the guy who caught the ball had to say:

"I hate that guy," Snyder told reporters before he was whisked away. "I don't really care for the guy."

When asked if he would consider giving the ball to Bonds, Snyder declined with a mild expletive.
 
dang...anyone here played baseball before. I was an ALL state baseball player and let me tell you. YOU CAN BE HUGE and MUSCULAR.....and suck.


STEROIDS did not hit those homeruns. Coordination is the key.....yes he is more powerful....but big deal.....atheletes have been on steriods for 10's of years.


OH and it does not matter. A ROD will break it in about 10 years anyways.
 
I'm sure he's a great player, you have to have the ability to still be able to hit the ball, which steroids doesn't help. But if his doping led him to hitting balls farther, no, I don't hold him very high in my books. Hank Aaron is still the man.
 
Really don't care whether he makes a record or not. It would have been good without the steriods

Ya its great, I like the 2 months when baseball and football seasons overlap, sports overdose!

Too many fricking games to watch!

I don't care if some juicer hit a ball out of a park a couple hundred times with his bat.

Off topic, did you notice they stopped calling the NBA finals winners the World Champions now, since the US keeps getting their asses handed to them in basketball in World competition.. :)
