Dorky things you love

I could not find a trailer so here is Part 1, always loved this movie. Wizards (1977)

I like to throw knives...

Man I got in to that a few years ago, really enjoyed it too. One day I was throwing them at my fence and the knife flew through the little space inbetween the wooden panels, a few seconds later I heard whimpering on the other side so I ran in to my house and never have picked it back up.

EMO CHICKS FTW
Fucking Love emo chicks. =D

Wizards was great.

I'm big on picking locks. I think it's kinda nerdy and dorky. I have over 50 locks strung about my house, 5 of them on my desk. I bring locks and picks with me nearly where ever I go. I was on flight last month picking locks, surly annoying the person next to me. I'll go over to friends houses and when I'm there (usually drunk), I'll see if I can't pick their front door open. So yeah, is it dorky to lock locks, and picking them? My wife says it's actually pretty cool, so I don't know. Goes well with my other hobbies of guns and computers.

We went to State every year I was in high school - I was in charge of the Pit (or the percussion section that sits in the front of the band.) I played tympani.

Everything I do is dorky - right down to my (very) extensive collection of juvenile literature and my DVR full of Holmes on Homes and House Crashers.

Awesome. I taught myself marimba, but my main instrument is french horn. I was on the drumline too, and drum major. I still volunteer a *a lot* of time to HS bands by being an instructor to their brass lines. I love it, the music and excitement just gets my blood pumping. Major respect for pit members; they usually have way more music to memorize, and moving the equipment can suck.

Princess Bride should be required learning. Imagine a whole generation of kids not ever having seen it. *shudder*

Seriously, we quote that movie and use it in a real life scenerio at least once a week. (Which, incidentally, is another dorky thing we do) In the airport last week, for example, My husband shouted "Everybody MOOOOOOOVE!"

I really wanted to contribute something to this thread, since I think I am a nerd, but apparently it went from dorky to corny.

I like economics, which is known as "the dismal science" because it is so boring. But I don't find it boring at all. I can listen to lecture after lecture on price theory, money and credit, history of banking etc.

I also like eating breakfast to classical music. I figure that is pretty dorky.

I have seen every episode of The Office at least 30 times.

I wear a USB bracelet around my wrist as a digital locket. It has pictures of all my friends in a organized directory tree with blurbs about them and how we became friends among other things. It also has a large number of my personal secrets. If I died, anyone could easily piece together every major detail of my life by taking it off me:

I'm so dorky that my wildest fashing/clothing dream is that Sheldon's t-shirts from "The Big Bang Theory" would become a line of clothing you could actually buy.

His shirts rock.

I am madly in love with my dorky / geeky side that I can't even list all of the things here.

Off to check out the shirts now.

bwahahahah MAWWAGE

The japanese version is very negative, almost equating to sociopathic shut-in.
I once met the american guy who handles international relations for Studio Ghibli. He was amusing. But aparently you can't be an Otaku if you've ever enjoyed a sport. Ever. I hear they take this very seriously in Japan.
But then he also thought bordeline yaoi, gender bending anime was bizarre beyond belief. Coming from a guy who's proof checked pictures of midgets made out of boobs.

LOL holy shit. I'm not the japanese version. I use to play soccer alot and I go out lol. I'm an American Otaku I guess :jester:
