Anyone is watching this?

Dragons Den is the Canadian/UK version (airs on CBC/BBC)

Shark Tank is the US one (airs on ABC)

I gotta say I'm totally addicted to this show.

What an ass Kevin O'Leary is though! He humiliates people on every single show.

What motivates people to go on those shows pitch their ideas though? You know there is 90% chance you'll be humiliated on national TV and 10% chance you'll get a deal but they'll totally take control of your company. I think I've never seen a "fair" deal on the show! If you have a great idea, a few sales and an okay business plan, wouldn't you rather get a loan from the bank and keep 100% of your company?

I thought it was interesting to see the difference between american bussiness and the rest of the world.

The americans are all after a wank wank toss toss rags to riches story they can market, and brits are all after a solid investment they don't need to worry about.

im addicted to this show too...the first one i saw was more than a fair deal...look for the "Holy Crap" deal

I've watched all 6 (or however many) seasons of the Canadian one Dragon's Den. It's great.

I agree with OP, that there are very few good deals if you're the pitcher. However, the point of going on the show is the free publicity on national tv. I've heard numerous stories about some of the businesses, who declined to do a deal, either getting a better deal from other investors, or having their sales take off after doing the show.

For those who don't know Kevin O'Leary... here's a little taste lol

I really felt bad for that girl who was crying when he said "your tears don't add any value, get over it"

Shark Tank is dogshit. Typical US reality TV, whereas Dragons Den focuses on actual business.

I haven't seen the US version, but love the UK version. If it's anything like the Apprentice though, I know which one I'd prefer. (Although that's unfair because US Apprentice seems more about product placement, Trump's ego and making a reality show, where as the UK is slightly more business focused.)

im from the US but i think the Canadian version is the best...its really focused...and it gives u insight into how investor deals are/can be structured.

The UK version has always been the main show, although the actual idea came from Japan (Money Tigers). Don't know if any of you know Doug Richard?! He was on in the early years (from California).

Didn't Shark Tank get canceled?

Nope, the 2nd season starts up any day now. Saw a promo for it the other day on tv, showing Jeff Foxworthy (!, wtf) being on the show.

The first season was alright, but the UK and Canadian ones are way better. Much more insight into business thought, numbers, investor rationalizations, etc. etc. And although Shark Tank isn't terrible, it is definitely a dumbed-down "reality/drama" style version of the UK/CA ones.

You gotta love Kevin O' Leary though as badass as he is sometimes. He sure knows his stuff.

Yeah I love the show watch it all the time. I like seeing products and now even people I have seen/met in Vancouver. Think it was last week on Dragons Den with that Water company from Vancouver came in. I was like I know that girl she tried to sell me that water so I would put it in my cafe's.. lol She sucked at selling me on selling her produce.

Also anyone know if you can watch those sharktank episodes online like you can with the Dragons Den
