Fasting

Here's a good vid for those wanting to learn more:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x718e7GMkQ4]WHY I CHOOSE TO STARVE MYSELF ~ WATER DIET DAY #9 - YouTube[/ame]

Interesting story, it sounds like he was on day 32? And that he was severely underweight?

Sorry it's been a bit since I've read the story so I don't quite remember the specifics but they let him stay at a hotel all alone for one night and then found him at the bottom of the stairs the following morning. So basically they left him unsupervised after a 32 day fast which is just retarded.

Fuck long term fasts, watch this BBC doco on intermittent fasting. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD3ug4EaKb0]Eat, Fast & Live Longer (BBC Horizon Documentary). 720p - YouTube[/ame]

I've done 2 and 3-day fasts; before I start, I fill my gut with fiber and let it run through. When you get older, you have to stay on top of your fiber anyways, unless you want your shits to feel like PayDay bars when they come out.

As long as the body is getting sugar it never really enters true fasting mode where all the repair is supposed to happen. Juice fasting is nothing more than a starvation diet.

It's not about starvation.. Not at all. It's about supplying your body with micronutrients that feed your mitochondria (the parts of your cells that give energy the rest of the cell).

Juice bypasses most of the digestive system, because you don't have to break it down as much. It's absorbed by your body quickly.

You sir know nothing of juicing.

There is a pretty good documentary by Joe Cross 'Fat Sick & Nearly Dead' - he goes on a 30 day juice fast and cures himself of his autoimmune disease.

And then there is Dr. Wahls who cured herself of her multiple-sclerosis (Good video on ted). She wasn't juicing, but she switched to eating mainly fruits & vegetables (juicing is just a more efficent way to deliver those vitamins/miconutrients/minerals to the body.) with a little organ meat and grass-fed meat. She avoided grain-fed meat because grain-fed have high omega 6's while grass-fed have high omega 3's.

Dr Gerson.. I won't get into that. Look further if you're interested, don't if you're not. I don't really care.

To say juicing is about starvation is wildly inaccurate. It's about feeding your mitochondria and fueling your body - Not about eating just so you aren't hungry.

PS: Healthy mitochondria = your cells have the proper energy to function correctly. Sick mitochondria = inefficient cells that often start a chain reaction of fail.

Juice aint nothing but sugar. 95% of nutrients is in the skin of fruit, the rest is sugar to lure animals into eating it so they shit the seeds out somewhere else for the plant to spread.

You want to know why people feel energetic and great drinking juiced fruit? because they're on a high from the 200 grams of sugar they just scoffed down.

You're going to completely disregard vegetables then? I only use a little fruit in my juice. 95% veggies.

PS: Most nutrients are not in the skin of the fruit. That's just flat out wrong. Most of the fiber is in the skin though (in most fruits).

But juice sugar cant be bad mayne, lets stop with that overcomplicated, 21st century ultra scientific approach to food

I can guarantee you wont get muffin top from apples, you wont get diabetes from eating oranges and you wont make your heart explode to pieces inside your chest by eating bananas.

Thats just the fact of life.

Now, you might get the muffin top from eating meat, you might get diabetes from drinking sodas and youre likely to make your heart go boomboom if you dont switch up your meat lifestyle. Im no vegan, but lets be fucking real - all these people talking about benefits of chicken meat, turkey, tuna, whatever......THATS BULLSHIT

You know why? Because its 20 mother fucking 12, and that chicken meat aint chicken meat. They might as well print it out for all I know. Beef? Jesus christ look at any video how they produce it, its sickening.

Eating meat in 50 years ago and eating meat today is completely different mother fucking story.

I've done, 6, 10, 14, 21 and 30 day fasts.

These were 400 calorie per day fasts.

The 21 and 30 day fasts required a 3 day transition to soft food.

the ultra fast is the dry fast with even no water. 7 day (or so, please check yourself) dry fasting equivalent to about 40 days or so of the water one

Whatever you do, remember to keep up some light exercise.

I know how much it sucks, but it keeps everything working properly (circulation, blood pressure, etc..) and prevents you from loosing too much muscle.

Been through this, was an experience, but vastly overrated.

3/10 won't fast again.

PS. The "science" behind "detoxification" is also mostly bull... found that out but later.

But there has to be some way to clean all the shit in your system? My neighbor kept tellin me about the cleansing fast he did, maple syrup and some herbal shit for 2 week, he said he was doing the deuce every day

On maple syrup! How the fuck is that possible?

curious, how often do you poop when fasting?
Daily.

If you have trouble making a movement, you flush with salt water (drink lukewarm water with sea salt, different specific gravity than regular water, passes through bowels) or a laxative tea (Senna based).

When you're fasting, it is important to evacuate daily, because otherwise you can get septic.

And yes, 28 days into a 30 day fast, you can still pass some semi-solid matter.

The matter that is pooped when fasting is dead intestine cells.

As for the "bullshit" claim

Many alternative medicine practitioners promote various other types of detoxification such as "diet detoxification," but there is little evidence that detox diets have any health benefits.[5] Sense About Science, a UK-based charitable trust determined that most commercial products' "detox" claims lack any supporting evidence and can be considered a "waste of money".[6][7]

Beer and cocaine based fast, of indeterminable length, here. Highly recommended.
