I always said pop though. Only when I went to the states for my first time did I realize people say soda, the waitress didn't even know what pop was.

A huge chunk of the US does call it pop. Just depends on where you're at - it's a regional thing. There are places down south where you order a Coke and they ask what kind...

surge is the same thing as Urge which is now only sold in norway i think

I haven't tried the Extra Ginger Beer....can't find it in any stores around here. I guess I'll have to give in and order some from their site.

Sprecher Brewing Co. Cream Soda
Fitz's Micro-Brewed Root Beer

I'll second the Reeds Ginger line, as well as Fitz's. I used to live in St. Louis, so I had plenty of Fitz's in my time there.

Jones soda has a ton of good sodas, as does Boylan's (birch beer, black cherry,). I was just in Cancun and enjoyed quite a bit of Mexican Coca Cola, made with real sugar.

On a regular basis, I don't drink sugared sodas, so I'll usually go for a diet coke, diet mtn dew, or a low carb monster if I need a stronger caffeine dose.
