Why is everyone hating on her for something she can't control? Is it her fault that her dad is willing to give her $100,000 to invest in a business? If you were in her position (and at her age) would you not have accepted the money just like she did?

There's way too much jealousy in this thread. Simply because a lot of you came from nothing, doesn't mean you should hate on somebody for the sole reason that her father is giving her a lot of money.

Most other rich girls would be using that money to do other far more stupid things than starting a Web 2.0 business. A lot of the people whining in this thread would've done more stupid things with $100,000 if they had a rich dad give it to them when they were 18.

Pretty much everything you said right there is the absolute truth, at least in my case. It's just belittling to think back on what i went through/had to do when I was her age to make it in this business and how bad I wanted it and sacrificed for it. And knowing there's others going through the same thing right now bothers me to see some punk kids playing around with wads of investment capital that more deserving kids would never even dream of getting like its some toy they'll get sick of in a few months. Then to top it off pretend like they came from adversity to sensationalize their hobby. So yeah its a combination of jealousy and belittling.

And right now some guy is flushing $100,000 of it down the fucking toilet.

Oh well. I'm sure the young lady will get something from the experience. But I do think her father would have better served her by throwing her $1,000 so she would be forced to learn how to bootstrap. I'm certainly not going to "hate" because she has access to more resources, though...............the little cunt.
