But really, it's not so much about YSE going as it is the fucking hell and mayhem it will create in my life when half my tools quit fucking working. Then there is not going to be a defacto goto tool for checking BL's which means that in general, my link checking abilities are going to cause severe pains in my ass. Makes me a sad panda.

EDIT: SERP IQ WILL SAVE THE DAY AMIRITE? ;D

Im the owner of nicheshark, we are switching to majestic SEO for all backlink data.

Another option is using ahrefs.com, pretty OK tool aswell and not to expensive.

This isn't really new news tbh, it's been on the cards for almost a year already.

As Dchuck says, the good tools will be modified to incorporate someone elses API... the bad ones will simply die off.

Personally it'll kinda piss me off as i don't currently pay for any backlink tracking software, looks like that might have to change though. YSE is just so convenient and fast, finding a free alternative wont be so easy.

oooow, widdle ly2 is gonna have to work 4 hours a day instead of 2....fucking cry me a river...it's not like your sC2 skills will degrade that much with 2 hours less hot man on alien action a day.

Why use YSE when you got OSE?

Do you think OSE's bank of servers indexing the whole internet for results, or anyone else's for that matter, is nearly the size of Yahoos?

What we're missing here people is server power. YSE was the unbeatable standard because it was so powerful that there was a chance for all of your backlinks to be found in it. (Not a good chance, but a chance nonetheless.)

Now any service out there isn't going to come close to finding all of your backlinks. OSE is a good idea but until they can afford a gargantuan server room full of bot hosts, scouring 500 billion pages a day and indexing it all, we have lost something truly valuable here. ;(
