Galaxy S5?

$4k? That's about 3.5x more than what I pay yearly.

Yeah I spend $700-$800 a year and I have an S4. I keep a phone for 2 years at a time, previous phone was an S2. The changes one version to the next are too incremental to notice, but after a couple of years I notice a phone tends to start annoying me.

To people complaining about a smartphone killing your productivity, you just have to treat it appropriately. My phone stays on silent face down on my desk most of the day. I don't give my mobile number out to clients, either.

I get most productive uses out of it when I'm travelling. Long train/car journeys, when out of the country, etc.

Do any of you get more production vs. consumption value from your phones outside of making phone calls? Honest question. I can't stand my phone and hardly use it if I don't have to. I just haven't found a whole lot of value from mobile app usage.

The only thing I use my phone for is to check email and make calls or text. (S4).

I'm thinking to upgrade my s4 to this one.

Just looking forward for its new metallic look and 16 MP camera.

Pretty meh overall. No updated bezel free design, no metal chassis, and no ultra HD display. Looks pretty much the same as the S4, slightly bigger, with a different textured plastic back, still 1080p. Better battery, better camera, fingerprint scanner and some other nice features, but I'm not blown away like I was hoping to be.

That pretty much proves Samsung is copying Apple.

Looks like it can film in 4K? Doesn't that mean the screen can display 4K? I'm not sure.

I think I'll stick to my S4. The day a company releases a smartphone which has decent functionality with a battery life of longer than a day, I think they'll be minted. But in regards to the first reply, apps can be helpful when needed - I use the GPS almost every week.

Moto X

It's been out for months.

I don't have one personally, but a friend does. He claims its the smartest phone he's ever had and the battery life really is as good as claimed (about 24 hours).

I'm on a Galaxy S3 still.

what feature did they copy?

You missed his point.

Samsung didn't have anything new to copy, lol.

They have blatantly copied just about every major design and feature Apple has done with the iphone/ipad since they were introduced. Even the packaging and store set-up has been replicated.

I wish someone would come out with a native phone that has a 48hr battery life.

It can be done, and it isn't expensive. However no one wants a slightly larger/thicker cell phone, everyone wants one razor thin. I personally don't care about the size, but battery life is important. Sure you could go aftermarket, but usually they use sub-par chemicals in them and it leads to quick loss after a few months of usage.

Including the 6 months ago horrible idea, now all of a sudden great idea finger print scanner!

Why would anyone volunteer their fingerprint to corporations??

Is this the freedom I read about?
