I'm in the fuck-a-smartphone camp myself.
I think I'll stick to my S4. The day a company releases a smartphone which has decent functionality with a battery life of longer than a day, I think they'll be minted. But in regards to the first reply, apps can be helpful when needed - I use the GPS almost every week.
Why would anyone volunteer their fingerprint to corporations??
Is this the freedom I read about?
I'm not sure how samsung does it
I've never owned a smartphone. Frankly, I don't ever want to own one. Even my "dumb" phone kills my productivity, which is why I keep it off and let everyone go to voicemail.
I'm not sure how samsung does it, but with the iPhone it never leaves the device.

And what's the big deal about it though? My fingerprints are already on file from when I got my Firearms ID, as are most peoples that have a job and had to get a background check.
What if fingerprints can be returned in results like a search engine. The feds scan in a fingerprint and say, google show me who this is, and whalla there ya go.
