I guess I was confused because in the OP you said you where in pretty decent shape. You are not. Unless you meant you can run a few miles and lift a bunch. But whatever, lets move on.
Well in order to get ripped and lean, you're going to have to cut eventually. You are in a good position that you aren't grossly over weight, but you have to take shit in phases.
Since you have no muscle you should go in to a bulk. Start lifting your ass off. Eat at least a gram of protein a day per lb of body weight. Most importantly you have to to eat a calorie surplus. As 'bulk' sounds, you're going to put on weight, and some of that is going to be muscle.
Just focus on lifting for a few months, and you'll start to bulk up. Then go in to cut to get rid of any extra fat when you feel you need a change. Honestly though you can lift probably several months before getting to that point.
Yeah when I said decent shape I basically meant I wasnt an obese fat ass. I am trying to decide if I want to join a gym or just convert my garage into a gym. Should I be looking into a free weight set or would something like a bowflex setup work for me?
