GoDaddy is saying .Co is the new .Com...

You cannot track the start of .org, and say how another TLD will emerge. It is not possible, given the rapidly changing interface of our marketing world.

Did you know there have been many generic top level domains released since .com .net and .org? For example, .biz, .info, .name, .mobi, and .asia have all been relatively recent. Can you understand why many people would compare the success of these top level domains to the potential of .co?

Moreover, if it's not possible to make any comparisons to .co given the rapidly changing interface of our marketing world, then why have this thread at all? Your claim is that that evidence is completely irrelevant, and there is no argument anyone can make that can be substantiated. If this is the case, how are we supposed to engage in a conversation with any sort of intelligent speculation? It's as though you're asking a question, and then sticking your fingers in your ears and yelling "la la la, can't hear you" like a child.

I came here for questions, and opinions. I will not live my life off of this thread alone. If you want to refer to intelligent answers, why not wandering at post #19. Many posts on here have been like that. I see where you're coming from. If we cant compare past TLD's to .co, how can we have this convo. I get that. But we're now coming from a place, where GoDaddy, the leader of domain registrars, is backing a new idea. When IBM backs an idea, consumers follow. Maybe people on this forum wont, but the new consumers, that are getting into online marketing every day, will follow the word of GoDaddy, created a whole new level of marketers. Eventually, we may see a shift, I'm glad to of posted on here, because even though I have had no real feedback, it has helped me sort out my thoughts.

^italianbull, how are you using the word "new" here... New as in "this time" or new as in "Never done before?"

GotohellDaddy isn't doing anything here but passing out yet another "product" like .tv and .mobi. -What really makes this different in your educated opinion?

BTW: Are you really taking Full Sail classes? What's that like?

For those that are interested...if you watch the commercial on their website at the end is a link to purchase a domain for 7.49 better than the 11... either way...its there for you.

It doesnt matter what Godaddy pushes, it's all about what the consumer hears about in there social media. The minute blogs start posting about .co, it'll hit the roof and blog info spreads like wildfire. Just like this thread, me, one person started it and has engaged dozens of people. Many of you should be aware how fast stuff spreads on the net. If tens of millions of people saw it on tv, it doesnt matter what is real or not, consumers will hear of the buzz, and follow along. By new, I mean people who will check out GoDaddy, because their commercials are provocative, yet provide a service that interests many people. If this leader of the industry is pushing .co, people will follow.
