Hey USA

No need for bombing people like that....

All they need to do is go to the UN and I'm sure they will stop that kind of thing with a piece of paper, right?

Oh crap. I cannot believe people would do that. Shit. That was bad. He never even had his hands to defend himself

That is so fucked up. People like that might hide behind religion, but they are nothing more than serial killers and should be treated as such.

If any God truly existed, shit like this wouldn't happen.

If we stopped (and I'm admittedly not caught up enough on global affairs to know the background) why doesn't someone else take up the slack? Surely someone else out there has bombs and isn't afraid to use them.
That's like beating your children to teach them that violence is wrong.

Amazing double think there.

Absolutely. Progressive thinkers understand we need to develop a new "time-out" bomb.. or maybe a Ritalin missile.

Somali warlords, the Janjaweed, al queda and the taliban are just misunderstood children. One more beheading or stoning.. just one more.. and no facebook for them for a full week.

Contrary to popular belief, USA is not the world's moral police
We have one winner...

Just how individual nations come with individually defined crimes, along come the punishments received...

In the US you get microwaved alive [electric chair] for shooting a police officer, in China you get hung from a rope for 'treachery', in the Middle-east you get stoned for adultery...

[added dilemma; all of these 'crimes' have been defined since ancient religious times] [...]

In this scenario, really neither civilization possesses authority to judge the other.

Then again, if everyone always respected their neighbor's sovereignty since ancient times, we'd have world peace by now!:smilie_weihn_winki:

The problems in these societies are like the problems in Western societies when they conducted the spanish inquisition, or burned "witches" at the stake, or the king enforcing prima nocta on newlywed brides, or women being chattel slaves, or blacks being slaves, or Jews burning in ovens.

Yes, these cultures are violent, primitive and backwards. Just as our ancestors were. You change that by introducing law, property rights, capitalism and education.

You don't solve problems of violence with violence, unless you want to commit genocide. Unless one really believes that the only way to advance these people and give them chances at peace and prosperity is by killing large numbers of them off, without any consideration for justice, but rather delivering raw mindless carnage.

So your lame assertion that I think that they should be coddled like children is wrong. My point is, no number of guns will stop violence. You can't make people more moral with threats of force. (Isn't that the premise of the Islamists?)

People become more moral when they see the humanity (or inhumanity) of their actions.

Contrary to popular belief, the sword has accomplished little good in this world, whether wielded for good or bad justifications. All social growth and peace comes from moral evolution.

I was being sarcastic just like you are here - just thought it was funny the US was being asked (albeit in a joking manner) to step back up the bombings as Captain America since normally we're being told we're a bunch of trigger-happy assholes.
I apologize then. My sarcasm detector is really poor.
