Nice! I just got a Traxxas Nitro Sport. Broke the left side suspension carrier block, so I replace the rear arms and blocks with aluminum ones. Then today I broke the engine mount and rear shock tower jumping the curb. Guess what's getting upgraded to aluminum next ;)

Fucking RC anything's are just too damn addictive. I already want a 1/8 scale buggy.

The only stock-looking parts are your shocks
and the chasis which just cracked yesterday on the drag strip. It cracked right along the rear axis which sucked, the left tire ended up getting more of a chunk of traction than the right and snizap it went. So I'm going to have to rebuild the bitch with an aluminum chasis and some lexan to prevent rocks from flying up into my body. IC the problem with rc cars...too much damn maintenance, but thats also half the fun :)

1/8th scale buggies rock!
I saw a quarter scale the other day in the hobby shop that made my jaw drop

When I find my camera, I'll post some pics of my truck in pieces. Got it sitting on my workbench right now with the engine out, muffler off, broken bits, bent shock, and all. Oh well, just another excuse to go to the hobby shop. I'll have to tell my wife that I'm going to my mistress' house (or anywhere but the hobby shop). ;)

That's my Tmaxx I had a few years back with a .21 in it(not shown in the pic, obviously). The first time I got it finally running I remember driving it down and back about 20 yards or so... I ended up doing a wide turn and hammered on it during the turn...the inside wheel popped off the ground like it was doing 3-wheel motion in some dr. dre video...I held it, came outta the turn and hit the throttle harder, and both wheels were in the air as I drove it back. Coolest_thing_ever. My shit eatter was in full-effect for a good 10 minutes after that.

Only problem was I could never get it running right so just ended up getting rid of it...

Might be time to get another one.

THROW SOME D'S ON THAT BITCH!

HUH? What does that mean?

Nate: Not sure what Traxxas' instruction manuals were like a few years ago, but they're really complete now. I tuned mine according to the manual, and then took it to the hobby shop just to make sure that I didn't screw anything up. They said it was dead on. I attribute that simply to reading and following directions.

If you want to save a little money over the T-Maxx, pick up the nitro sport (what I got - cheapest one) or the Rustler. Both are 2wd stadium trucks, not 4wd monster trucks like the T-Maxx, but still hellishly fun! :D

PS: Did you Armor All your tires?!

Yeah, it was actually an ofna engine I put in it and I tuned it exactly how it explained in the manual. I just couldn't get it right for whatever reason. I ended up taking it to a couple different guys, one of them had been in the hobby for several years and he got it running after playing with it for a while. The next day it wouldn't start and I couldn't ever get it running correctly after that. I finally got it idling fine, but as soon as I hit the throttle the engine would die. I ended up getting frusterated everytime I touched it so I gave it up.

About the tires, I think I ended up putting tire cleaner on them. Those were some of my ebay pictures.

you guys should try 1/8 scaled helicopters... thats prolly more fun rebuilding it after each landing.

i tried the whole helicopter thing. Busted it to shit. then eventually beyond repair :)

rc cars is more fun anyhow.

sweet car nate

Umm...okay...I couldn't understand a word they said. I'm not a rap guy. I think I'll just chalk it up to one of those things that I'm too old and unhip to get.

Yeah, I'm trying to convince one of the guys at the hobby shop to buy my Blade CP. It's too difficult to fly for me, and I'm getting sick of buying new blades and other misc parts every time I fly it.

With the car, I still break shit, but at least it takes some serious effort. It's amazing how durable that little bastard is. Wish I had a digital video camera for some of the cartwheels it's done. I think I managed to get 6 full revolutions - cartwheels - out of it off one jump and it survived. Fuckin' amazing!

I've got under $500 in mine. Yeah, some of the electrics are just as fast, if not faster than nitros, but they don't have the cool sound :D Just a little differential whine to 'em
