I have a feeling kemp is lolroflmaoolololololoing from all the replies this thread got.

I dont know what to think about this thread. I just wanted to know something and you get people saying I'm a racist, other people posting racist stuff and a couple people who actually answered my question and I want to say thank you to those couple of people. Thank you.

Edit: What the heck is that red/orange box bar under my picture on the left? Am I in trouble now or something?

^^ That is possibly the only girl who could ever think something you do is even remotely 'hot'

In all honesty, I tried using this picture in a Facebook dating ad but they wouldn't approve it :D

My god. Going up to some chick and saying are you Jap!? You gotta be fucking kidding me.

"Are you Jap?"
"Yeah... how'd you know?"
"Oh, I'm really into Asian chicks and I took a few classes online to know the difference between you girls."

She'll either think you're a freak or absolutely adorable in the "you're cute... like my big brother cute."

An Asian girl doesn't need any special treatment just because she's fucking Asian, especially in America/Canada. Get her name, get her number, maybe take her back to your place and fuck her.

Since I've come to Thailand, I haven't treated girls much differently than I have in America. Girls are the same everywhere except when it comes to cultural beliefs, and those lines always get crossed anyways.

Just don't make yourself look like a dumbass. If you are interested in a Asian girl, treat her like a fucking girl. Get to know her name (chances are that will give away her nationality anyways), and what she likes to do. Make conversation. Don't dick around with where she comes from until she feels comfortable talking with you. Coming straight off the bat with WHERE ARE YOU FROM!? spells super awkward moment for me.

This thread is fucking despicable.

I was in China a year and a half ago, and when I was taking a tour, the tour guide (Chinese teenager who had just moved to Beijing from the countryside) mentioned to us that the tour group behind us was from Vietnam. He then said that it was hard to tell, since "we all look somewhat similar". He seemed surprised when I pointed out that it was pretty easy for me to tell the difference. I guess it's all about what you have exposure to.

I took two years of Japanese and was president of our Japanese club for my senior year. I will have to agree if you don't spend time around the Asian girls, I doubt you could tell.

However I can tell the difference between a Hmong, Japanese, and Thai girl. But hell I couldn't tell if the chick was Chinese. Also as far as I'm concerned the Thai and Louse (sp? I'm sure I didn't spell that right) girls look the same. There are many Asian people in this part of Wisconsin because during Vietnam war we brought many over, and here in our city we housed a lot of them. So it's an asian melting pot. (BTW I'm not asian, I'm white, but have never had a problem with them)

If you never delt with them I think it would be increddibly tough, so I think it's a ligitimate question, and not quite sure why people are piling on so bad. Yes it almost sounds racist to ask.

I will however agree the question is way too vague. I would think he doesn't know any better.

But it would be the same in asking how to tells someone from the north, or the south, or whos a Jew (just an example). Just saying.

The simple answer is, if you have spent a decent amount of time around them you can kind of tell, but you never know.

I just knew it was the recent rash of Asian titty pics that got Daniel asking questions. Just figured out that he might like girls, er, I mean Asian girls.

I still can't figure out how you can be from Canada though and NOT know how to tell Asians apart. Didn't you go to school? Half my classes were filled with kids of Chinese and Philipino descent. Half of the West End of Vancouver is filled with Japanese kids who've come to learn English. Then there's the Vietnamese, Korean, Cambodian, Thai, etc. neighborhoods as they all tend to practice self segregation, squirling themselves away in their own little communities so they don't have to integrate themselves (at least the first gen families).

Get out more Daniel. Sounds like you've led a sheltered life. If you want to be Earth Emperor, you're going to have to educate yourself about your people.

Or quite possibly asian boys, once he figures out how to tell them apart.

You can tell by their language :P
based off my observation in college:
Most chinese these days have shorter hair. their eyes are wider as well. Most generally have rounder faces.
Most koreans have longer hair. A lot of the youngsters have goku hair. They dress really well. Most of them wear stuff you would see breakdancers wear.
Most japanese have longer hair too, but not goku style. They have baby faces and really smooth skin. Their head are more narrow and less round. Their eyes are more narrow.

you cant tell asians apart just like you cant tell white people apart or even harder black people.

you are stupid if you can't tell who is who

it is very easy to spot a Chinese from mainland in a group of asian

By looks alone I honestly can't tell the difference either.
Also in regards to looks I can't tell the difference between:
scottish and irish
indian and pakistani
columbian and mexican
russians and french
italians and greeks (and I am italian)
or any single mixture of countries in africa.

depends on the scot or irish, i can tell religion of a scotsman or irishman a mile off by their face. so easy, celtic potato head is catholic and germanic anglo saxon looking is protestant. and i'm willing to guess that i could pick county of birth 50% of the time correctly with an irish face.

ah man, how can you not tell russians and french apart?! completely different.

you cant tell asians apart just like you cant tell white people apart or even harder black people.

agree

my ex-girlfriends dad's skin was dark as fuck. i couldve sworn he wasnt 100% chinese (han). i thought he was indigenous taiwanese or maybe even filipino... but he was chinese.

even in china there are hundreds of different ethnic groups... some look more korean, some look more kazakhstani or pakistani, some look more vietnamese, etc... but they are all chinese
