i am trying to set up google analytics to track goals... but no successes for some reason

what do you use to track where you converting visitor came from?

i am sending traffic from a bunch of different sources to my squeeze page and getting sign ups on
Aweber but i don't know where they are coming from(which exact traffic sources) - how can i track 2 clicks back?

you can set a hidden field on your aweber form and put whatever value you want in that... static values are easy like tracking codes for each squeeze page you are using. If you can program you can drop whatever other variables you want in there as well like date/time/referringwebsite/any tracking variables you're passing from ppc ads etc.

When you send out your mailings you can include this aweber field as a parameter in any links you include in the email. Effectively this hidden super field(s) gets passed as a subid to your offer.

Of course you won't be calling your offer direct - you'll be going through tracking202 or similar with link cloaking on.

Take it one step at a time - learn how to install tracking202 and how it works. Then set up Aweber form to place data in and capture this hidden field, then set up your outgoing emails where you pass this hidden field as a subid.

Put it all together and you'll be amazed what you can track.

There might well be other better methods out there but this one works and is pretty simple to get right if you follow it step by step.

boby thnx for the help but i do not know how to program... and wouldn't know where to start with what you said here..

there has to be a simple way to do this. i mean google analytics isn't the only one who can track conversions and where the traffic came from right?
