How many push ups can you do?

3, then i head for the fridge to get a pizza pop and onto the patio to smoke.

2 more, then to the fridge again for a beer.

I've done 1000 pushups in a day 10 reps x 100 1 minute breaks in between sets it starts getting really hard

you mean you got to 80-90 per set in 3 years or you've been doing the same amount for 3 years?

If I can reach that amount in 2 years I'll be happy. Trying to increment by 1 push-up every 2 weeks. 104 weeks = 52 push-ups more...

interesting thread... My 100 push-ups suddenly don't seem as impressive anymore

im at 80-90 per set now. Started 3 years ago with like 5-10 per set. Took that long to build up to that amount. I do them slow and full. I don't really like that it takes me that many

3 * 25 in 4 minutes when my personal trainer is shouting at me. Need to scale it up.

Shit - I gotta get back to gym and get into some sorta shape.

Years ago I was doing a lot of martial arts as well as other sports, and could do 250 easy. Now I've got a beer gut and struggle to do 20!

Also can't manage more than 3 cock pushups any more..

if you're doing over 40 in a set it's time to level up! try some one handers :P

i remember in highschool I couldn't even do one real push up. I did the whole increment 1 more each day thing. I got it to like 40 and did the whole "i'll just do 1 + x more to make up for X days" thing.

FYI - the Marines do 4-Count pushups, aka 2 = 1 of theirs.

I am living proof you can definitely get to the point of 80-90 in less than 3 years time. When I entered school my first PFT was something like 42? in 2:00. By my sophomore year I was rocking 80 on it.

On recognition day (the last day of the hazing system for freshman) we had to do "class pushups". I was 2003, so over the course of the day we did that many.

I'm not going to lie- by the end they were shitty at best and the last set of ten done with your class includes the upperclassmen throwing towels beneath you pulling you up. Its a big mess. But 2003 repetitions of anything in 24 hours is insane anyway.

Edited to add: If you want some really insane stuff, hop over to http://www.beastskills.com/tutorials/ I'm currently working on HSPUs (Hand Stand Push Ups) trying to get to 3 sets of 10. The next level is this: http://www.beastskills.com/tutorials/tutorials/43

I can do 10 in a row without stopping, but my face goes red with effort.
Need to do better, I'm going to start do more exercise every week.

That's shocking, you must weigh like 3 tons or something?

lol, not quite but close to it, about 110kg. I stopped exercising last year, it was supposed to for only a few weeks, but I didn't start again. For some reason, my fitness went down really quickly this year, I'm beginning to notice it now.

Jefferey, where did you get that old photo from? That photo is completely inaccurate, I have a wide screen lcd monitor, and a proper office chair

Just got home from the gym and saw this. Already sore, but did 52 in 60 seconds...

Heart rate hit 130 just like that. Nice.

Edit: Was listening to this, FYI.
