I ain't even mad ... This company is in BOSS mode.

This whole story is completely framed (no pun intended) in a way to make them look evil or something. It doesn't really make sense.

How does this benefit the consumer?

If they want to pay high prices for designer glasses, they will.

If they want to pay cheaper prices for cheaper glasses, they will.

Nothing evil about it, just smart business moves.

Buying Retail Stores and buying Eyewear Brands is simply known as Forward Vertical Integration and has been happening for decades.
 


Basically the commissioning editor was butthurt when he discovered his $200 'American' Ray Bans were made in Italy. The message seems to be "this company isn't American. And they're a monopoly. This is unacceptable!"

What I want to know is why all the Luxottica employees in that video are wearing glasses which are too small for them.
