Apple claims their multitasking method will save battery life and resources, unlike the competition. But how?
First of all, this is not 100% true multitasking. Not in the sense that developers define it: All system resources are available to all applications, with the system assuming the role of a traffic controlling, and giving preference to some tasks and less preference to others.
That method will consume too many resources, specially memory—which will make the system choke—and CPU—which will also deplete battery life quickly. Their method is quite clever: They will allow multitasking but only for seven specific actions or areas.
