Is cheap vodka just as good?

Jean Marc XO

By far the best Vodka! Its pretty rare and most clubs never have it. I have had to special order it in the past.

Vodka is my drink of choice. @TheMayor, I am definitely going to have to pick up some of that Jean Marc XO.

For mixed drinks if you want something cheap Fris is pretty good.

The biggest difference from a cheap vodka to an expensive vodka is not the taste but the hangover the next morning. Cheap vodkas usually have a much worse hangover than a higher quality vodka.
This is what I was going to say, I do not drink often but I do Tequilla, I still refuse to drink anything but Patron, It is clean and I do not feel like shit the next morning.

They may taste the same, and all that shit taste like bitter asshole, so taste should not be the reason you drink one over the other.

How you do a blind taste test on it btw. They prob gave them the crappy shit after a few shots of the good shit, after that you wouldn't give a rats ass how it taste anymore.

Vodka is one alcohol my body can't tolerate. I have no idea why - guessing I'm allergic to the grain in it? I drink, my face gets all red, my nose stuffs up, and then I proceed to vomit. Even as little as 2 shots of it.

I can drink whiskey/rum all night though.

It all comes down to the person who is drinking the vodka, what he or she likes. I've been on a dirty vodka Martini kick the last couple of months (Belvedere or Chopin).

I know some people who prefer cheap vodka but I can't stand cheap vodka. I also do not like Grey Goose, I can tolerate Kettle One if I have too.

The best vodka that I have ever had was this Russian Vodka (I don't know the name of it) and when you put the bottle in the Freezer you could see and etching of the Kremlin in the back of the bottle, the bottle was sick. It was the best tasting and smoothest vodka that I have ever had. I wish that I knew the name of it.

Someone sent me a thank you basket awhile back and it had a bottle of Ciroc. Surprisingly its pretty good. It goes down really smooth and has a good taste. Mixes really well too.

I drank a few different vodkas when I use to house party, but always mixed. Recently (and FINALLY, since it was banned in my province until last month) got to try out Dan Aykroyd's Crystal Head Vodka, and could enjoy it straight over the rocks; virtually no aftertaste at all.

It was one of just a few vodkas - out of 200 competitors - to win double gold at the prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and Aykroyd himself has been traveling around N America to sign bottles for fans for quite some time now.

And as internet marketers, gotta give him credit for salesmanship by wrapping a (paranormal) story around his bottle design and explaining the creation process from using pure spring water from Newfoundland and wheat from the fields of Ontario - plus no additives, etc...

Anyone who enjoys a premium vodka should give this one a shot. Literally.

I really didn't like the initial taste. The aftertaste was fine.

ill take goose or kettle whichever is available.. goose between the two

i notice a huge difference not only in taste but in the hangover as well from cheap vodka. i dont care what anyone says, cheap vodka makes me feel much worse..

Coincidentally, Dan Aykroyd - in addition to being behind the Crystal Head Vodka I mentioned previously - also actively promotes, and owns the Canadian rights to, Patron Tequilla. :-)

As can be seen in this article's photo, lots of GhostBusters (and Blues Brothers) fans show up to his tequilla, vodka, and wine promotions...

Vodka and soda water is my drink, and yes I can tell the difference no matter how drunk I am. If I'm sitting at home playing XBox I drink Tito's. Good price, distilled 7 times, no big aftertaste. I can get hammered on the cheap. If I'm entertaining at home I always break out the Russian Standard. It's kinda expensive but it's my favorite vodka but makes awesome Martini's. If I'm out and about I usually drink Ciroc or Sky. If a girl want's some Vodka I usually give them Effin black cherry vodka.

Very true. me and my friend bought popov for a party we were throwing, but nobody came. We bought 10 handles, and we had to drink them over the course of a year.. That was an intense year of hangovers, I'm never buying that shit ever again ever.... I wouldn't let my dog drink that -- well if it was normal for dogs to drink.
