Christianity HAS had it's dark ages. witch hunts, the inqusition etc. Besides a FEW extemist nuts, what acts of violence has Christianity committed in modern times?

I guess I am ignorant concerning your statement. What attrocities in modern times have been committed under the flag of Christianity?

Modern violence for religeous beliefs are carried out, mainly by muslims. Comparing the religeons, are like comparing apples to oranges.

Freedom and liberty is a result of the country and it's politics you live in. There are millions of muslims living in countries like the US, Briain, Canada, ect. They are free and have liberty, yet they still practice Islam. Your argument is aimed at the wrong place. It is the corrupt governments, not the religion. Because you come from a country that (arguably) separates church and state, you have a hard time understanding the lifestyle in Islamic countries. State/Life/Religion are all intertwined deeply there. You base your hatred and sterotype on things you don't and can't fully understand because you have not lived it. There are over a billion muslims in the world. In proportion, there are actually a very few that are radical and extreme, but unfortunately make the rest look complicit. Most muslims do not agree with the Taliban, or Al Qaeda. They are merely guilty by association because of people like you.

Popeye, Hellblazer, you guys really show nothing but anger and hate and take every opportunity to attack anything that you don't beleive in. Your insecurity is abundant.

Without Christianity, you wouldn't be enjoying the liberties you have today as a women. Most other cultures and religeons view women as inferior. Most civil rights movements in modern western civilizations, had Christianity as it's core.

I am not attacking anything. I read post that attack Christians and call them stupid and ignorant so I respond. Get your facts straight! Why are you not calling out those that are bigoted toward a certain group of people??

Second,

I have lived in a muslim country and been witness to it's citizens everyday for 2 years. I have lived with them, ate with them, slept with them, put my life on the line for them. I would have to go out on a limb and say that you have never even visited a muslim country. Therefore I must state that the information that you are trying to pass of as "credible" is only what you have read on the Internet or have watched on MSNBC.

explain to me how YOU being an armed force in someone else's country means that MY information is only what I have read on the internet or MSNBC?

How did it feel to be greeted as a liberator? Must have given you the warm fuzzies huh?

The reason why there is no Anti-Muslim hatred is most of us are not bigots. You know, where you spout hatred for stuff you know nothing about and have no formal education in? So, for me to stand up and say anything against the Koran would be ignorant and wrong because I really don't know anything about the Koran. As stated before I know the Bible, I know Christianity and feel completely comfortable honestly pointing out the Evil that lies within.

That said, Muslim is a religion and religion is for the weak minded, Schizophrenic, and Mentally retarded . So there. Happy, Hellblazer?

Ah yes, anti-Christian hatred is merely 'criticism', but anti-Islam hatred is 'bigotry'. Furthermore, you can only direct your hatred towards Christianity because for some reason you haven't bothered to familiarize yourself with the Islamic holy texts.

It would appear to me as if you have no knowledge of the Bible's core tenets, especially seeing you swallowed those distortions you so eagerly copied and pasted. Perhaps you were asleep in Sunday school or daydreaming during the bible studies you bragged about, but in my opinion, you seem hopelessly naive about how the Bible works. You easily copy and paste smears about Christianity because, after all, you 'know' it. And yet quotes on that same site, speaking of hatred and violence in the Koran, are ignored because you 'don't know anything' about it. If that hitjob website is what you're holding up as the standard for the criticism of holy texts, why the temerity in posting its analysis of the Koran?

I was embedded with a unit from the Northern Alliance for almost 8 months. I lived them 24/7 for those 8 months. While I called most of them "brother" by the time I left. I still didn't agree with alot of their views on women etc.

You learn alot about a culture and it's people, while spending as much time as I did with them.

you're right, you do learn a lot about a culture and it's people. I'm glad you did and I hope you learned to appreciate their unparalleled hospitality. You spent time with the ones left behind there, I've spent 14 years around the ones that were able to make it out of there after the Soviets ruined their country. There are a lot of Muslims that do not have the same views on women, etc. But somehow, we only hear about the ones that do.
My wife is Afghan, and she's probably the smartest and strongest person I know.
She's a Muslim and she's one of the most respected people within her community. She also raises our two daughters to be strong, self respecting, and compassionate.
Don't paint a whole group of people with the same brush stroke.

and hellblazer, get down off your soapbox.

Dude, I'm a muslim and the Quran also says:

"If anyone killed a person not in retaliation of murder, or/and to spread mischief in the land, it would be as if he killed all mankind"

"But if they incline to peace, you also incline to it, and (put your) trust in Allah. Verily He is the All-Healer, the All Knower"

To understand "kill the unbeliever" you need to know the history of Muhammad, and the immigration between Mecca and Medina. There was a war back then, what do you expect in a war dude? Even in war, the Quran makes it clear that attacking civilians is a sin. Also Christians and Jews aren't unbelievers, They are people of the book.

Chill out dude, most of us don't agree with Binladen and Taliban.
