There are many ways pp can and does fuck you every day. Both as a customer and as a seller. I'm still steaming about what they did to me a month ago...

I once wanted to buy a domain that came off auction for $97. It was time sensitive, naturally. I had funds in the linked-to-pp bank account, but it just wouldn't draw... I then sent $100 from a different account to that one, they still wouldn't let me buy it. Not with the credit card either. The purchase just wouldn't go through and they didn't say why.

So I got one of those dickweeds on the phone and although she had all the tools right there to look up the transaction and everything, she couldn't tell me why it wouldn't go through. It was just "Blocked by our Security algorithm."

Long story short, I missed the purchase, it's long gone.

3 days later I got an email saying that my account could make transactions again, and that I basically should stop trying to purchase things that credit card thieves would want to purchase.

!!!

I'd threaten a lawsuit, but they know damn well this is the land of mitigational opportunity and they are more likely to afford OJ's lawyer than I am.

I'd go over to moneybookers but then I'd never be able to buy anything!

Exactly, it makes no sense when paypal has a monopoly share. Nothing else can compare to pp, not mooneybookers, not checkout. That is the worst part!!!!

And for paypal, fuck it we need paypal just like we need the big G. All we try to do is cope with their shit. And this is how it goes when some firms own a specific market and get no competition whatsoever. Ya know, those who will let you whine about their service defects knowing that it takes more than YOU to hurt their reputation anyway.
 
Get a real merchant account. Pay pal gets their name for being the "payer's pal". They don't care about what's right, they just protect the person who pays. A merchant account will fight chargebacks and take the side of the merchant (you). Intuit offers a free trial and their service is on a month to month basis (as opposed to annual or two year contract). For the importance of being transparent, I need to mention that I used to work for Intuit.

I agree, paypal sucks! I avoided pp for years until after i got into IM and signed up with WF because I realized there are so many services and products here that I can only get by using pay pal to pay for them.

My story is Legend -

I had a Account on PP - Suddenly they send me a mail, about someone try to hack my PP. They want my all details ... I submit it! - after long 26 days waits and spent 156$ on Call to PP... They fix the limitation...
After 2-3 days later - they limit my account again... They said: "I have 2 Account on PP" Which is not TRUE!
Now they not ans my call or reply my Emails Eter....
F*ucking Hell........................
 
I think Paypal is banned in China.

This is why I'd rather not deal with Paypal directly - find a cheap, reputable payment gateway that accepts Paypal and receive all payments through them. You might lose more money in transaction costs in the long run, but consider it insurance against Paypalatastrophe.

Wait, you're giving people digital goods, they are filing complaints, and PayPal is refunding their money?

Doesn't sound right.

PayPal doesn't offer buyer protection on digital goods. If those people are really able to get refunds, you're checkout system is set up wrong and they are ordering tangible items.
