K.I.S.S: How to Rank #1 for a Moderately Difficult KW in Less than 2 Weeks!

Did something fairly similar about 2 months ago. Bought a new domain (didn't buy an aged one like you did). Got some high PR blog posts to the site, then once the domain was around 3 weeks old, I ordered SGW directly to my money site.

Sitting at #9 for a 230,000 exact match keyword, and #4 for a 20,000 exact match keyword. It was definitely a risk using SGW directly to my money site. Not sure if I'd do it again, but thankfully, it worked out this time.

How's your site doing?

Day 1 strategy is for real. The two aged domains I bought with PR are doing amazing (I actually build the domains out though).

The one 12 year old domain I bought with no PR and no history... doing the worst of all of my new sites. It's got some sort of penalty on it. I'm thinking of 301ing it to another domain soon, and SGW at the 12yo domain. This is one more vote on that direction.

Quality + Spam + Keep Site alive with comments and new content + spam = win

By no PR do you mean PR n/a or PR 0? Was it indexed at the time you bought it?

PR N/A (and still is). The site was indexed (the little homepage domain for sale page), and info:domain.com showed up. So I bought the little fucker. It's indexed but the home page ranks 73 and not much else is going. I would expect it and a bunch of other pages to be in the 20s by now.

I dunno I'm no domainer and not a pro at this stuff, but it's a legitly quality site so I am gonna keep at it, but need to cut losses and 301 at some point.

Wanted to bump this thread to update this slightly offtopic string here. I have officially given up on this domain, flipped IPs, and 301'd over. Primary Keyword is in the new domain name, which is actually 11 months old now.

This site MAY never recover and I'm down like $1000.

Moral for me: Only buy a domain if it's got PR, links, and age. Missing one of those three? Fuck it buy a new one. I can wait the time it takes to mature it myself.

You win some, lose some. This one is definitely a loser for me.

I hit sgw to one of my sites and it sent it back to where it has been sitting since. Like berto says win some loose some.

however I have been dying to try my luck again, But Ive been getting great results with the quality shit and the problem is link building has became crazy expensive lately lol. I hope to pull off a sgw this month though. Man do I love hearing great results from every1

And I 301 d a penalized site to another and the new domain popped right up to place. 5 days later gone. So I still think penalties can also transfer through the 301. I think your luck is the same when blasting the sgw (or any spam) to money site or 301.

( of course my expirence for this is still limited. just based on my trys and reading others )

That could get interesting if you have a domain that can pass a penalty through a 301. Maybe try aiming it at a tough competitor you just cant seem to pass :)

Clyde, or anyone else who knows a good place for that matter, where did you buy your social signals, fb likes, google+ etc.

This just reminded me of something I did recently with a 301. I had an old site that probably was penalized because of too many spammy links, mass blog commenting, forum profiles etc. I could never get it's rankings out of the shitter. I 301'd that site to another domain that I had sitting around for probably 6 months. The new domain had no content at all. I took all of the content from the original site and dumped it into the new site. Within a couple of weeks the new domain was ranking in the top 15 for most of the keywords that the original site was going for. I built no new backlinks to the new domain either. It ranked strictly off the 301 I'm assuming.
