LIBERTARIAN INSTITUTE SAYS OBAMACARE WILL ACTUALLY COST 6 TRILLION

How much is already being spent on the uninsured and whoever else "Obamacare" will end up covering?

If cost is the main concern, then why not more focus on how other countries can cover everyone while spending less than the US government already does on it?

And here we have a prime example. Notice how not a single Obama defender has even tried to contest this devastating analysis. They know how pointless it would be. The above poster is a perfect example of an Obamabot who will talk about anything but the issue at hand. Diversion and deflection.

Dear Copy/Paster,

I challenge you to find one single instance of me defending Obama, or better yet, endorsing him. You may use the search feature or any other tools at your disposal.

I await your intriguing conclusion.

Good day,
subigo

rabble.

Please utilize the available functions to reference my previous posts and threads as well, you will quickly realize they are 99.9% free of dickheaded politics or the support/dissent of any type of platform, party, politician, etc. If you were under the impression I am okay with a balloning health care bill that could potentially be forced upon us as citizens because I hijacked your thread, well, you couldn't be more wrong. I just kinda hate everything about what you do here since it's hardly ever relevant to internet marketing, mainly to stir up arguments so you can try and prove how "right" you are. It would be nice to know what you are trying to accomplish so you have a chance to halt the growing consensus among wickedfire members considering you to be one of the most annoying forum trolls to ever live.

If something is supposed to be budget neutral it should be well thought out enough that it is as budget neutral 10, 20 or even 30 years down the road.

I'd like to think that the brightest minds in our country could look even further than that. All politicians have ivy league degrees don't they???

I just kinda hate everything about what you do here since it's hardly ever relevant to internet marketing

But without wickedfire I'd never know what's going on in the news. I would have never read that article or known there was a guy trapped inside his own body for 23 years.

Hello friends,

Once Bobby Jindal become president of Amercia in future everything will be good and better.

Good luck bros

Attack the message, not the messenger. People like you are simply proving my point.

I challenge you to find one single instance of me defending Obama, or better yet, endorsing him.

When you characterize legitimate criticism as 'rabble' without one shred of proof or logic to back up your assertion, you are defending his policies by attempting to minimize the critique's impact.

If you disagree with the allegation that the projected costs are highly understated, by all means explain your reasoning. It could be that the author of this article is wrong, although I doubt that. And if you read the piece and found it incorrect in its analysis, feel free to share your insight.

But to mindlessly spout 'rabble' and nothing else suggests an intellectual unwillingness to engage in the issue. Attacking the messenger by ignoring the message is hardly impressive, and in fact detrimental to the conversation we should be having with an issue as important as this.

never told you this, but I think you're really cool.

Note the responses. There are many who are so beholden to their ideology that they will attempt to distract you from the truth. They will try their best to attack the messenger instead of the message.

They are so utterly defenseless that they will practice rudimentary diversionary tactics. This should tell you all you need to know about what kind of people these are and the policies they defend.

Take note hellblazer that it's not that people couldn't dismantle what you say and absolutely humiliate you but we simply don't want to waste our time debating a ridiculous argument that you would be quite happy to keep going for weeks. If you want to chat politics in such depth, find another fucking forum on the subject.

h1n1 vaccine cost me nothing. Birth of Two Children (at different times) cost me nothing. My DH knee surgery cost $150 for the brace and $60 for physio therapy but thats it. Micro Spinal Surgery for a parent with a herneated disk cost them not one penny.

IMHO it's all about your approach to health care. You don't want a whole bunch of poor people coming from all over the world and clogging up your health care system. You also don't want a bunch of lazy do nothings sitting on their laurels with their hands out expecting to have the health care of a CEO.

We get that.

Our attitude is we are willing to accept the responsibility for having lazy people. We are our brothers keepers and we accept it.

Maybe you should too.

Many of the people speaking out agaisnt the healthcare bills don't like, didn't vote and even protested agaisnt Bush.

You can get rid of your assumptions that only right wing rebublicans are agaisnt the health care fuck. The MAJORITY of Americans (Rasmussen Poll) 56% to 38% are against the healthcare reform bills that are in play at the moment.

So take your "HATE BUSH" college kid fad bullshit, stuff it in your pipe and smoke the shit.

Being lazy is not how our great nation was founded. I refuse to reward laziness.

Next time you feel like joining a forum to spew advice, I would advise you to choose a different name.

I would like to point out that the $6t figure is over a decade of expenditure.
So it's actually $600b per year, which is not that much for a nation with over 400m citizens.
It averages out to $1,500 per year, per person.

Now, I will admit some ignorance to the current state of expenditure in the US health system, but I'd imagine it's already going to be $600b+/-10% after you count things such as rebates, PBSs, etc.
Any figures contrary to that?

It only didn't cost you anything. It cost someone else dearly. Medicine isn't free like clothing and shelter are not free. Someone pays and if you aren't paying full price, then you are, as they say in economics, "free riding".

Our attitude is we are willing to accept the responsibility for having lazy people. We are our brothers keepers and we accept it.
Based on the first part of your post, it sounds to me like you're the brother who is kept by others. If you were your brother's keeper, you would be paying for other people to get medical care not using it yourself without paying or at a discount.

FYI, "brother's keeper" is a term made very popular at the beginning of the 20th century by various socialist movements. The results of this are Cuba, the former USSR and Warsaw Pact countries, Mao's 60 million murdered chinese etc. Time and again, collectivization has lead to tyranny, starvation, genocide and economic collapse. It is not sustainable (and arguably, not ethical) for a society to provide goods and services that are not paid for in full by the people demanding them. The very nature of collectivism, the "brother's keeper" notion of altruism, is based on a rejection of individualism. When you stop being an individual that means you no longer exist outside the collective and cannot be self-directed, but rather directed only by the wants and needs of others.

If you are truly your brother's keeper, then you owe him medical care at the expense of anything you want for yourself. If you are truly your brother's keeper, it means you can't afford things for yourself that you have not first provided to your brother.

As you can see, it is a ridiculous and self-contradicting ideal. Which is why it usually ends in so much pain and destruction.

@HellBlazer, Cato is barely libertarian. They are mostly small government conservatives. The Independent Institute, Ludwig von Mises Institute, Foundation for Economic Education etc are libertarian organizations. All three should be in your RSS reader.

Do you pay taxes?

I do. The percentage scares me.

Guess where a lot of that hard earned, berry slinging, money goes to? You and your "brothers".
