Let me take a stab at what you mean by sleep paralysis...
One time I was just tired as fuck and I was just lying on the couch on my front.
For 10 seconds I was awake but paralyzed, I couldn't do ANYTHING. My brother was right next to me, and I was trying so hard to scream "help" but I couldn't get the words out. I tried moving my arms, anything, but I just couldn't move. Those 10 seconds felt like eternity and I literally felt like dying.
Now, thank god that was only 10 seconds. If that shit lasted even a minute, I think I would have gone insane.
I'm a stoner and I think it's pretty cool to have a couchlock, but that sleep paralysis shit was a lot different....

Sounds like it. I've never had it with people around, and I always keep my eyes closed anyway, I have no interest in terrifying hallucinations. It used to happen to me a lot when I was really young -- and didn't know what it was. I would wake up, be unable to move, hear footsteps, I'd hear my name and some freaky ass other noises (sounds like your room is filled with a bunch of people whispering) and freak the fuck out - except I couldn't scream or move for like 10-15 seconds.

Interestingly enough, I had another "episode" where there was a little fuckin' demon (looked like E.T.) dude sitting on my chest, and he started smacking me in the face until I came out of it. It was awful. I don't think there's really anything that compares....lol
I'm skeptical of the elevator "hack" - has anyone tried this?
ive had sleep paralysis (i think) and it was worse then anything i could have imagined.
