Ibanez | Jan, this contradicts with the story that drave posted (which seems very interesting btw)

So because there is one guy with a loose screw who likes to live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and fuck grizzly bears, my statement that all human beings need some sort of social interaction is wrong?

wut.

Get some office space, join a gym, ride a bike, walk to the store, listen to the radio, meet a girl, do some charity work, get a grip, stop whining.. There are so many people far worse off than yourself

^ I don't see how moisturizing hands and crying would help, but a good nap is always nice.

Why don't you take vacations once in a while? It re-energizes your system, which is good for your overall productivity.

You won't be a robot anytime soon, you cannot become one. The sooner you understand this the better your future will be.

As opposed to having a job.

If you constantly feel lonely you aren't working hard enough or maybe you should find another line of work

Except for the fact your supposedly living abroad you sound another Pewep clone.

In all honesty, you need to make some friends. They don't need to know how much money you have. Just find some drinking buddies or someone you can go (insert interests here) with on the weekends. You must have some interests right? Some hobbies? Other than work? Or go take some classes in something you want to learn about and you might meet some like minded individuals.

The problem is, actually I don't really want friends...
Look, I'm a nerd and I'm well off. Friends either use me for my money or they are too stupid for me and waste my time.. it's my honest opinion, but still I feel so lonely.. Or well, at least 80% of people are like this, and I don't know how to find the 20% that I could get along with, since those ppl are probably sitting infront of their computer as well.

What about a new hobby? Do something you enjoy offline? Meet people who like the exact same thing?

I heard a lot of guys say that about women. Sad thing is, they wanted a girl to call their own, they just didn't know how to get one so they convinced themselves that a girl isn't worth having.

You've done the same thing only you've extended that reasoning to all of humanity.

I know this sounds trite, but if you want to be happy admit to yourself that you got a problem and that you do want friends. The more you intellectualize your problem to get around it the longer you will stay depressed.

Best of luck to yah.

I've been working from home since 2001 and I am completely happy!

You have the freedom to do whatever you want, so do something. Go to the gym, play golf, go to a bar, whatever.

It's not "working from home" that is the issue. It's your lack of mental fortitude. You control your environment. You control your decisions. You control your life! Quit being a lazy geek and get out there and make shit happen!
