longest you've gone without sleep?

When we took the twins home from the hospital, neither me or my wife slept for more than a couple of hours a day. After a few days I started hallucinating. We asked the in-laws to pitch in and I slept for 20+ hours straight. Ever since then I always make sure I get at least 6 hours of sleep every night.

60-70 hours or so. i was standing watch in the military on 9/10/01. so you can guess on 9/11 no one showed to relieve me for another day.

Wasnt to bad, ill do it again if had to.. I thought i would sleep for days after that. I think i slept for a good 6 hours and got the fuck back up to stand another watch..

I should be putting that kinda time into AM... what a dumbass i turned out to be.

FML

someone should slap dennis yu face on crackead tyrone.

I did just about 75 hours fed by stress and caffeine. The last 4ish hours of being awake gave me hallucinations more creepy and vivid than any I've experienced on any type of drug.

Maybe about a week and a half or so a few years back. Became a bit irritable but dance mixes and 5 hour energy kept me going after about a week.

On average still up 2 or 3 days in a row looking to make the big bucks online. One day it will happen. That or my end comes. Unfortunately it seems to be the latter is leading but hope is still within me.

probably 36 hours or so because my plane was delayed, and delayed again, and again, and I didn't want to sleep at the airport

Stayed up for like 3 days straight at a LAN party in '93. Was young and stupid and decided to drive home without sleep.

Fell asleep at the wheel on a 2-lane unseparated highway doing 65 mph and woke up from a loud bang. That was our car hitting the SIDE of an oncoming car. Scariest shit that's ever happened to me, and the reason I always make sure I'm rested before a drive.

Never underestimate rest and sleep.

Around 50 hours. Thanks to an Xbox game called Elder Scrolls III "Morrowind". Sold my Xbox shortly after.

you should try Oblivion (TES4) :D

as for how long I've ever stayed awake...probably around 20 hours. If I don't sleep enough, I can't do shit next day, so I basically try to sleep at least 6 hours / night (or day).

Longest I've stayed up for was 36 hours fueled by adderall. Doesn't sound that bad but I doubt you'll believe me when I say I was buried in the books 95% of the time. I actually think I can improve my time, and plan on trying for 48 hours some day before I get old, with or without the use of external substances.

Oblivion rocks. I got close to the end and then for some reason, I lost interest in it. But I never could play any video game longer than a few hours, I get restless.

Fallout3, now that game (from the same engine as the above) is really a game meant to deprive sleep. I've yet to lose interest in it and this single game alone makes my PS3 worthwhile.

re: sleep deprivation, just a bunch of all nighters for me, nothing beyond 2 days total (wimp). However one of my friends who was on detox was up for 10 days straight, I talked to him in length about his sleep deprivation, he said he was pacing the room, it was like being in hell literally.

When you have to stay up for a deadline, etc. it's one thing. You suffer but you suffer with a purpose. When you want to go to sleep and CAN'T, you've entered the closest thing to hell imaginable.

I used to do 72 hours a couple of time a month at least in my university days out partying, although that was with a lot of chemical assistance.

Yes, you do start hallucinating and totally losing touch with reality.

I remember having a moment of clarity when I was about to accuse a random garage attendant of stealing my mobile phone (which I'd left at home).

Nowadays - if I go more than 20 hours, I feel hard done by. Glad I've got that phase of my life over and done with!

I'd have to say a week or even more. I had serious insomnia issues years ago. Thank god that shit went away.
